Anyone been able to get pgadmin3 installed on CentOS-4 ? The WxGTK2 stuff makes it impossible for me to get installed from RPM/SRPM from their site and likewise, couldn't rebuild from Fedora SRPMS either. I figure between Jim and Owen and ???, somebody might have succeeded where I would be doomed. I can get around with phppgadmin but pgadmin3 is pretty cool. Thanks Craig

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie to centos and having trouble upgrading java's jdk1.4 to jdk1.5. I assume I have to get the jdk from jpackage, but I'm having trouble locating it, let alone finding any instructions on how to upgrade. Much appreciated if anyone can help. Thanks!

Hi All, tried to install the RPM for bittorrent, and got the following, [root at localhost bittorrent]# rpm -Uvh BitTorrent-4.2.2-1-Python2.3.noarch.rpm error: Failed dependencies: python(abi) = 2.3 is needed by BitTorrent-4.2.2-1.noarch [root at localhost bittorrent]# python -V Python 2.3.4 why is this so, when I have 2.3.4. Is this RPM only compatible with 2.3, not 2.3.1-4? Little confused.

I have several crontabs running at various times of the day and night. All generate copious output. All the jobs produce copious output, and some of them I need to see, while others are 's are just a pain in the butt to have t look at. is there some method I can use to selectively monitor cron's output of the one's I want to, while ignoring the others? If I have a local rpm file, what is the difference between running "rpm -i" and "yum localinstall"? When I do "rpm -i", I can still see the info via "yum info", so is there a difference? -- Bowie

I can't find 'system-config-authentication' anywhere in the centos repos. I know its part of upstream... but we don't seem to have it. Am I missing something? -jim

Good day -- I am having a go at installing VMware on my centos 4.2 machine. I am going through the configuration script and I am getting to the part where I need the c headers for my kernel. From my reading of the Linux Kernel mailing list, it seems that the LM87 sensor driver made it into kernel 2.6.8. Anyone know why it is not present in the RHEL4/Centos4.2 current kernel? Thanks.

I have source for a program that is attempting to open /dev/nvidia0 then on failure open /dev/dri/card0 to get some vsync settings. Neither of those two files is found on my laptop in /dev. Is this because of udev? I cant find anthing in /dev that might be used instead. Any ideas on what to open to read vsync information from X windows? Thanks, Jerry

Hi, I am trying to configure my X. I have a completely differnet monitor. The old command was XFree86 -configure. I tried Xorg -configure and it is not found. I need to be able to see the selections on the screen. I tried system-config-display --reconfig and that works but I it selects the VESA generic. I need the list of display choices like it used to present. Where is that under centos???
