ubuntu 11.10, system V runlevel compatability
I''m having a problem with the boot sequence hanging indefinitely at "stopping system V runlevel compatibility". Here are the steps I took to get to this point:
1) installed a single boot, server version of ubuntu 11.10 (intended to be dom0)
2) apt-get install xen-hypervisor-4.1-amd64 xen-utils-4.1 xenwatch xen-tools xen-utils-common xenstore-utils
3) updated grub as follows:

It's at this point where I think about filing a full bug report with
llvm. Any hints before I do?

LTO, ifuncs, and lld
Thanks for providing the patch! I got around to testing it this
morning and it appears it fixes compilation, but produces a
non-working system.
I know that's kinda vague and I'll have more details soon, including
sample binaries. I at least wanted to give a status update so you
didn't think you were being ignored.
Thanks,

[LLVMdev] [lld] buildbot configuration on using -fsanitize options
FYI We have an upstream bootstrap bot (
http://lab.llvm.org:8011/builders/sanitizer-x86_64-linux-bootstrap) that
does a number of things including running llvm/clang tests under ASan/MSan.
Probably we can add a couple of steps that would checkout lld and run
check-lld in ASan-ified/MSan-ified build trees.

Does it build with libstdc++? I've got this with fresh clang, -std=c++11:

[LLVMdev] [lld] buildbot configuration on using -fsanitize options
Hi Evgeniy,
Can you add the step to checkout lld and build and run the unittests then ?
Thanks

Boot fails unless "noacpi" option is present.
Hello,
I am using Xen 3.2.1 and I cannot boot it on my machine unless I use the
noacpi option. As far as I know noacpi option is incompatible with SMP, so I
must not use it, because my machine is SMP.
I am describing the problem in more detail below. If you could point me in
the right direction, I''d greatly appreciate it.
I downloaded Xen 3.2.1 official source distribution tarball from

Samba4 gid-to-sid question
Hi.
We used info from a SID created using samba-tool group add to posix-ify
it and then add a posix-ifed domain user to it. The AD doco defines two
sorts of SID. Ones that change, and ones that don't.
Here is a search on our posix-ified group:
ldbsearch --url=/usr/local/samba/private/idmap.ldb 'xidnumber=3000012'
objectSid: S-1-5-21-980186919-4150830324-975011627-1121

LTO, ifuncs, and lld
Hey LLVM folks,
I've run into an interesting assertion. In one of HardenedBSD's
feature branches, we're working on integration llvm's Cross-DSO CFI
implementation. Using Cross-DSO CFI requires building libs with LTO,
which causes clang to emit LLVM IR intermediate object files rather
than ELF intermediate object files.
I've found that with lld, attempting to link LLVM IR

panel.levelplot() for 2D histograms
Dear R-wizards,
I'm trying to plot "binned scatterplots", or 2d histograms, if you wish, for
a number of groups by using the lattice functionality
it works fine for one group at a time, and probably I could find a
work-around, but I prefer to do it the elegant way
here's an example of what I want, what I tried and where it goes wrong:
require(gregmisc)
require(lattice)

Samba4 xidNumber and idmap.ldb
Hi everyone
The s4 Domain Users group has xidNumber: 100 and the Linux users group
has gidNumber=100. I've been mapping xidNumber <--> gidNumber for s4
posix groups I've added myself, but this causes a name collision for
Domain Users. This also has implications on Linux as local users have
access to the group owned stuff of Domain users.
I've changed the xidNumber in

I've got some songs that I need OGG-ified as high quality as possible for my site, and I'm not sure how to go about doing it. I've checked out the tools available, but I'm wondering if there's anything else I should know about the process (above and beyond how to run the apps).
Any advice in this area would be greatly appreciated. These suckers have got to be PERFECT...

[LLVMdev] LNT install
Hi David,
That's weird, I have setup LNT in multiple different distros and have
never seen this. Looks like no one ever tested on the system you're
running. Can you share a bit more of your environment?
Also, you can check the setup.py to see if it does any stripping of
package names, which could go wrong in the wrong environment.
cheers,

Converting Rails app to desktop with XUL?
Hi,
We are thinking about choosing Rails as our weapon of choice for our
next project, which is basically a text editor on steroids, whith some
functionality that need an Internet connection.
In the first step we are going to develop it as a plain web app
(AJAX-ified, yay!), however, in the next step we would like to port some
of the functionality (such as the editor) to a desktop app (which can

Sure, I guess that splitting the arrayref/stringref headers out is a fine first step.
