Strange behaviour of ssh client on arch
Hi,
I don't know, if this is a developer question, but it is too strange for
the user list and maybe a possible bug. My setup is a little bit
complicated, but I will try to explain as simple as possible. I've got 3 server:

Interfaces on server1: eth0 tun0 tun1
$ ssh -v

Possible issue with stdio forwarding
Greetings,
I've been doing a little testing with the stdio forwarding support added
in recent snapshots and have encountered one possible issue. First, I
should say that this feature generally seems to work. However, I haven't
been able to get it to work when connecting to a server running
SSH.COM's product.
The config file I am using is fairly simple:

Issue with OpenSSH remote forwarding of dynamic ports
I recently ran across a problem with remote port forwarding in OpenSSH when trying to use dynamic ports. While it is possible to use OpenSSH to request a dynamic port and the OpenSSH sshd handles it just fine, the OpenSSH client gets confused when multiple ports are opened this way, due to the information passed in the "forwarded-tcpip" SSH_MSG_CHANNEL_OPEN message which is sent back to

ChannelTimeout setting
Hi,
I am trying to understand the ChannelTimeout option and whether it
should work as I expect.
I intended to use it to terminate inactive sessions, e.g. where no
keystrokes / output is sent or SFTP sessions with no commands or data
transfer. For testing I am using OpenSSH_9.6p1 Debian-5, OpenSSL 3.1.5
30 Jan 2024 both as the server and client.
I set the following options in sshd_config:

Disconnecting: protocol error: rcvd type 98
When I SSH using protocol 1 from a Debian box running OpenSSH 2.9p2-4
to a sparc.sunos5 box running vanilla OpenSSH 2.9.1, after a little
while (of inactivity?) I get the following message on the client
terminal:
Disconnecting: protocol error: rcvd type 98
Looking further, this message is actually caused by the SSH daemon.
However, I'm at a loss to determine why sshd is doing this.

ssh-keygen generator 3 broken.
Hello, I was re-generating the moduli for SSH, and during that process I noticed that, when running the following command:
ssh-keygen -M screen -O prime-tests=600 -O generator=3 -f moduli-2048-01.candidates moduli-2048-01c
It does not produce any errors, only the following:

sshd terminates a session after a successful login
I've recently upgraded our environment to OpenSSH-3.7.1p1 on Solaris, AIX
and IRIX. I have had no luck when it comes to getting the IRIX environment
to work. With sshd running on an IRIX server, I connect with any other
version/OS ssh, watch the connection establish, get right up to the point
where the shell should spawn and sshd terminates. I have been unable to
find any information online

ssh trouble checklist
Hi.
There should be a checklist of everything that can go wrong with
making an ssh connection.
Here's one entry for the list, which I didn't know before, and
* I couldn't see the problem from the -ddd and -vvv output, and
* there were no /var/log/* file entries to give hints.
Here's what I did
sudo kill <pid-of-sshd>
/usr/sbin/sshd
No good.
Usually I did kill

Problems using sftp on HMC IBM system
Hello friends,
I am having some problems using sftp to reach a HMC IBM system. The
connection is suddenly closed and I don't why. Actually I don't know
exactly how to read all these debug information. I would be very glad
with any help on this topic. Here is the full debug output provided from
the command execution:

OpenVMS SSH password expiry woes continue
I sent in a patch a week or so ago for a problem a customer of mine was
seeing when trying to connect to their OpenVMS system with an 3.8.1p2
OpenSSH client (running on a linux box or in cygwin) and trying to login to
an account who had an expired password.
The problem continues although now it has nothing to do with what my patch
handled as they have since upgraded their SSH software on the VMS

^C doesnt work on ssh session
Thanks Darren, will check on your response.
I am attaching sshd, ssh logs with debug flags. Please see if it gives any
hint:
when I press ^C in ssh session, no log gets printed in both server/client
side.
Best Regards,

User can't use SFTP after chroot
Hi,
I've posted this question on ServerFault, but no answer has been found
(http://serverfault.com/questions/431329/user-cant-sftp-after-chroot).
I have version 1:5.3p1-3ubuntu7
To sum up: I want to chroot the user sam. Things I have done:
- add user 'sam' to group 'users'
- added Subsystem sftp internal-sftp to /etc/ssh/sshd_config (at the bottom)
- added a Match :
