Hi all, I am trying to get OpenSSH working on an i386 BSD 3.1 box we have. Everything compiles OK, installs, and I can launch SSHD. Here is a sample session of sshd with the debug switch: <BEGIN SSHD OUTPUT, NAMES CHANGED TO PROTECT THE INNOCENT :)> computer# /usr/local/sbin/sshd -d debug: sshd version OpenSSH-1.2.3 debug: Bind to port 22 on 0.0.0.0. Server listening on 0.0.0.0 port 22.

auto mounting group shares
I am using autofs to mount user's home and group directories. The setup works fine for home directories which are mounted after user logs in. The group shares are also mounted, but user has to manually do cd or ls command on group shares, e.g.: ls /groups/chemistry will mount chemistry group share. Is there any way to mount group shares automatically? I noticed that after successful login

Tortoise CVS download for Asterisk Docs
http://www.asteriskdocs.org/modules/tinycontent/index.php?id=4 Can I make a suggestion that some documentation is provided for the Tortoise CVS download of the asterisk docs. I've tried every combination and I cant get it to work. I'm assuming it must work otherwise it wouldn't have been listed but for 60 seconds more work it would be a bigger benefit to the asterisk

Windows MSI file installation
After a recent reload with Kubuntu Hardy 8.04, my son and I are having some success with wine and M$ games/programs, mostly by bloodymindedness and the occasional foulup - losing sound intermittently was unexpected, although this may be due to the presence of an Audigy sound card, which despite being recognised and configured, nevertheless is not currently providing sound output - the main board

TortoiseCVS
Hi, I'm trying to use TortoiseCVS under Linux (through Wine). I'd like to eventually write some shell scripts to invoke it properly from Nautilus but that is still a ways off. Some of Tortoise's functionality works, like enumerating the code modules in the CVS repository. However, actually checking out code works for the first file but then fails:

feature request & patch submit: chroot(2) in sshd
Hello, whereas most people take passwd/shadow/ldap/<whatever> as the place where decision on a chrooted environment / sandbox for certain users is met (just set the given usershell appropriateley), I needed a somewhat different approach. Below is a tiny patch to 2.2.0p1 which enhances the sshd-config by two options and, when set, places all users / users of a certain group immediately in

"nis homedir" issue on samba- 3.6.9-151.el6 (CentOS 6.4 64bit)
maybe there is a bug regarding the use of nis to mount the user's home directory at the login or my misconfiguration. After the CentOS 6.4 (64bit) installation I checked for the latest samba version on the official repository using yum: the latest version (that was already installed) is samba- 3.6.9-151.el6. >From "man smb.conf" I have seen that "nis homedir" is not yet

Samba, Kerberos, Autofs: Shares get disconnected
Hi, I am still trying to figure out the best settings for Samba and Kerberos with autofs. My setup so far works good, users can log in on their computers using AD credentials, and they can access network shares with AD credentials as well. This works perfect. Also I notice that some Kerberos ticket is created upon user login, which allows the users to access a Samba share without entering the

Windows SDK not up to speed
Hello, Being that this is my first post here and my first ever post on a mailing list, I hope I am doing everything right! Anyways, basically I have joined this mailing list because I have a concern/question. Why is the Windows SDK at version 1.0.1 when the Linux/Unix library is at 1.1.0? If this is a number difference and it is really the same thing, I apologize. But, if it is that the

Update to EL 6.3 breaks TCP NFS automounts
See Red Hat Bugzilla bug #846852 for details. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=846852 FYI: We discovered that after updating to EL 6.3 on our x86_64 server, autofs 5.0.5-54 broke our nightly backups that rely on automounting an NFS share hosted on another EL 6 machine on our local network. The machine hosting NFS server was configured to allow only TCP connections to the port

Autofs cannot bind LDAP server
Hi, I'm using Autofs and LDAP for mounting my home directories via nfs. In general, everything seems to work fine. However, I have one small problem. If I reboot my server using autofs while my LDAP server is down, I get the following error message in my logs: automount[3358]: bind_ldap_anonymous: lookup(ldap): Unable to bind to the LDAP server: (default), error Can't contact LDAP

The harddrive shoud be mapped via the login script, and here is were my troubles begin.... autofs and samba
Was trying to use autofs on ubuntu and mounting a samba shared failed. Then, i came across a note that 'unless you need to authenticate to cifs' -- wish I could find the exact quote now. The point is autofs fails to mount a windows server share. I can mount the share using mount.cifs but it fails with autofs. So I just thought I would check to see if anyone has pointers on using autofs on

Do I have an improperly built R shared library or is there a problem with the Embedding tests or something else I am not seeing? Thanks for any help! George ost at
