sp_expire is 0 in QNX Neutrino
QNX Neutrino does not support the shadow
password database properly. Apart from
misdocumenting /etc/shadow as having 4
fields when in fact it has 5 (including
the "last changed" field), its getspnam()
fills in the sp_expire field of the spwd
structure with 0. And since by default,
shadow support is enabled and the
configure script turns on HAS_SHADOW_EXPIRE
when it finds that field,

libedit not found on SUse 11.1
Included below is a diff between the output from configure on a 64 bit
SUse 11.1 (doesn't find libedit) and a 64 bit Suse 10.3 (does find
libedit) for otherwise identical setups.
1. How can I get the output set up to look at conftest.c?
2. I added a set -x to configure above LIBEDIT_MSG=no
3. ./configure --with-ldflags="-L/usr/lib64" --with-cflags="-ggdb3

Testing wanted: OpenSSH 4.8
Hi,
We are preparing to make the release of OpenSSH 4.8 soon, so we would
greatly appreciate testing of snapshot releases in as many environments
and on as many operating systems as possible.
The highlights of this release are:
* Added chroot(2) support for sshd(8), controlled by a new option
"ChrootDirectory". Please refer to sshd_config(5) for details, and

OpenSSH 2.2.0p1 port to QNX 4
Dear OpenSSH porting developers,
finally I succeded in porting OpenSSH to QNX 4.
To get things going I had to take over some definitions from Linux'
include files, since they are not available under QNX (e.g. the howmany
makro, NFDBITS, the lastlog structure). With this email I send a patch
with all my changes as well as the file "qnx-term.h" which I created

2.1.1p2 HP-UX 11 timing error
FYI in order to get 2.1.1p2 to work on my HP-UX 11.0 systems I had to patch
atomicio.c for EWOULDBLOCK (HP read() does not give the POSIX return code).
The new atomicio() is a clean fix for this timing problem; all it needs now
is this one little tweak.
Also had the "General Commercial Security" error (PAM_TERM_ERROR from
pam_acct_mgmt()) which I have very crudely addressed for now by

preauth privsep logging via monitor
Hi,
This diff (for portable) makes the chrooted preauth privsep process
log via the monitor using a shared socketpair. It removes the need
for /dev/log inside /var/empty and makes mandatory sandboxing of the
privsep child easier down the road (no more socket() syscall required).
Please test.

ssh-add broken for latest snapshots
Hi!
I had some fight with ssh-add this morning that I have now tracked down
to a change recently made.
I run "ssh-add < /dev/null" to launch (x11-)ssh-askpass from the CDE
startup. Unfortunately, no keys are added to ssh-agent!
Reason: Between 2.2.0p1 (ssh-add.c 1.20) and now (ssh-add 1.22) the input
reading from ssh-askpass was changed from read() to atomicio().

SFTP Status Bar..
This is the LAST version I plan on doing.. If I hear no feed back good
or bad. Then I'll assume I've wasted my time on a feature that people
whine about but don't care to try. This is against 3.0.2pX so it
should be VERY easy for anyone to test.

Error when compiling for Solaris7
I cannot make openssh on Solaris.
The 'make' fails on the first file.
Here are the commands and the output.
Essentially, I pre-built EGD, SSL, and ran:
configure
make
make errors are listed at the bottom.
Can anyone help me get this compiled on Solaris7?

Fwd: RE New xanto driver for NUT
Dear Andreas,
some googling revealed, you created a driver for the xanto series of
online-usv.de. In what state it is currently?
I've to manage a S2000 and would like to use nut for it, is it usable by
now? Do you need another tester?
TIA,
Pete
