PAM Service Name Patch
I've attached a patch relative to OpenSSH 2.5.1p1 which sets the
default PAM service name to __progname instead of the hard-coded value
"sshd". This allows you to have multiple invokations of sshd under
different names, each with its own PAM configuration.
Please let me know if you have any questions or problems.

[PATCH] make pam service a settable option
This patch adds a config file option 'PAMService' that sets the PAM
service sshd will use. It should leave the current behavior unchanged if
PAMService is not set in the config file (i.e. use __progname for the
service or SSHD_PAM_SERVICE if it's set at compile time). The patch is
against the current portability release in CVS.
Why would you want something like this?

[Patch] PAM Service name option
It's sometimes desired to be able to alter login policy depending upon
how the person was connecting for the ssh server. For example you might
want different rules on the internal and external interface of a
gateway. In another setup you might want an sshd with a different login
policy running on a different port - and setup different firewalling
rules (for example).

patch to add a PAMServiceName config option
I append a patch against openssh-3.5p1.tar.gz which adds a config option
PAMServiceName. The option allows one to specify the PAM service at
runtime in the config file rather than using __progname or having it
hardwired to SSHD_PAM_SERVICE at compile time. I expect this to be useful
if one wants to run multiple instances of sshd using different PAM
configurations.

Hi!
I'm trying to use "Marco Polo Gro?er Reiseplaner 2005/2006" with
Wine 0.9.13 on Gentoo Linux. To use it, I ran travel\setup.exe

In the terminal window from which I started wine, I get:

Hello.
Over the last few weeks, I noticed that http://appdb.winehq.org/ seems
to be down from time to time.
What's going on there?
Thanks,

Files get written with sections of log in them - destroying files.
Hello!
I'm having a problem with Samba 3.0.4 on a HP-UX 11.00 server.
The problem is, that sometimes files don't get written properly; ie.
somewhere in the middle of the file, I find a section of logs. You can
find a sample file at
http://stuff.alexander.skwar.name/Delphi/HP-UX/Samba/broken-samba-file.prt
If you open the file with a "binary" editor and have a look at bytes

How to join a linux machine to a "pure" Active DirectoryDomain using Samba 3.0alpha21?
net ads join will add your samba box to the windows 2000 domain, and the domain does not have to support mixed mode. You will need to have kerberos setup and tested on your system (linux). Do you already have this done?

Free space calculation gets it wrong
Hello!
Running Samba 3.x on HP-UX 11.00, Linux and Solaris.
I've got a problem with the free space calculation of Samba. The problem
is, that Samba only seems to return the free space available in the top
directory of a share and not the free space available in the current
directory. That's a problem for me, since I share a directory on the
server and then mount the actual

What to do for ACL support?
Hi!
I'm trying to setup samba 2.2.4 on MandrakeLinux 8.2. The server should
act as a file storage for about 25 Windows 2000 clients.
Setting up a "basic" server which just serves the files is easy.
However, I'd also like to support NT ACLs on the Samba server. Well,
what do I have to do, to get it to work?
I'm using the Mandrake RPM for 2.2.4, which has ACL support

Joining Samba 3.0 to a "pure" Active Directory
Hello.
I'd like to join a Samba 3.0 alpha 21 server running on RedHat 8.0 to an
Active Directory. This AD does NOT support Windows NT 4.0 Domains.
In a previous mail, I've been asked if I already have Kerberos setup and
tested. I don't. How do I test if Kerberos is working correctly for me?
If everything is working fine, I'd like the Samba server to join the AD

Doing ZFS rollback with preserving later created clones/snapshot?
Hi.
Is it possible on Solaris 10 5/09, to rollback to a ZFS snapshot,
WITHOUT destroying later created clones or snapshots?
Example:

--($ ~)-- sudo zfs snapshot rpool/ROOT at 02
--($ ~)-- sudo zfs clone rpool/ROOT at 02 rpool/ROOT-02
--($ ~)-- LC_ALL=C sudo zfs rollback rpool/ROOT at 01
cannot rollback to ''rpool/ROOT at 01'': more

PDC login problem solved
Hi.
I've now "solved" the problem. If you remember, I was unable to login
from Windows 2000 to a Samba PDC.
To "solve" the problem, I changed the computer name in Windows 2000 and
then created a new machine account. First, it was "VIRTUAL-TEICH", and
now it is "vm-teich". However, this time I created the machine account
in samba in all lower case

Figuring out name of Kerberos server?
Hi!
I'm on a conquest to get Samba 3.0 to authenticate against an Active
Directory. For this, I need to have Kerberos working. However, I don't
know the name of our Kerberos server.
If I've got a Windows machine which is part of the Active Directory, can
I somehow get it to tell me the name of the Kerberos server?
Or could I use a packet sniffer to get the name of the server?
