Computing window sizes and adjustments
In SSHv2, the data that consumes window space is that sent in the channel data and channel data extended messages. My question is, how is the data that consumes window space reckoned? One would have thought that it is the total length of the message itself, but the standard seems to imply that only the data contained in the data string field in the messages above is to be taken into account. That

About rsync over SSH and compression
Rsync supports the capability of compressing data before sending. So does OpenSSH. It would be probably be a waste of resources and time to enable both compression capabilities at the same time, but it is not clear to me whether, in general, it makes better sense to enable rsync compression or SSH compression. My first thought would be that SSH compression might yield better results, on the

Dovecot crash
Thanks. Assuming that the IMAP mail directory for the account affected is under /home/xyz/mail, are you talking about the contents of the index directory, excluding the log file therein? Prevent client disconnecting fallen-too-far-behind
Hello, Does anybody know how I can configure icecast so it doesn't disconnect a client which "has fallen too far behind". We are using icecast2.01 streaming software for our church home-listening system. Our client we use a netgem-netbox. We are streaming 25kbps MP3 on V90-56kbps modem connection After around 45 minutes after starting the cleint the icecast error.log reports:

About rsync over SSH and compression
Thanks; I did not think of that. I have just run a few basic tests with both rsync and OpenSSH in their default settings, when it comes to compression. SSH compression seems to have a very slight edge. However, I surmise that, given the number of knobs available on both sides (OpenSSH, in particular) one can tinker with settings almost endlessly in either side, probably being able to end up with

Client has fallen behind
Hi Guys, I have a lot of streaming running with Icecast (Icecast 2.1-kh5) and they work fine on (for example) winamp. The fact is that we have many listeners tuning in with mp3-web-radio's on slow connections. Some of the streams connect only once in a few time. They connect and disconnect after sending 8k. The error is: [2005-03-16 11:20:07] DBUG source/send_to_listener Client has

Client ... has fallen too far behind, removing - but only when listening to a relay, not when listening to fallback
I have an icecast server (B) which relays another icecast server (A). Server B is configured to play a local fallback file when server A is unavaliable. Both are version 2.3.3 When I listen to server B (the relay), while server A is turned off, all works fine ie I can listen to the fallback track without problem. However if I listen to Server B while server A is running then I quickly get: INFO

cheap cloud providors
Hey guys, Apologies in advance if this question is in poor taste. But I've really fallen in love with learning about the cassanrdra database. The only problem is that it doesn't run very well on an t1.micro instance at amazon and the larger sizes are quite expensive. An m1.small can do the trick, while still not optimal. So I was wonder if there was any real value in the cloud or even

Client has fallen too far behind
Hi, I've a little bit trouble. I've set up an icecast 2.2.0 and an ices 0.4 system. Every song, sometimes every two songs my playler lost the connection to the stream and in DEBUG-Mode I found a logfileentry like: DBUG source/send_to_listener Client has fallen too far behind, removing. I changed the queue-size in icecast.xml from 102400 to 902400 (don't know if it is a good

Dovecot generate file when over quota detected
Hi, I am curious if Dovecot can add an empty file into a Maildir folder as soon as a mailbox has exceeded 100% capacity, and later when it detects the quota has fallen below 100% unlink the file. The idea is the Dovecot LDA would deliver the message and if this caused the mailbox to reach 100%+, add a file into the maibox say "username/Maildir/overquota". Interactions via Dovecot

help wanted: update ssh-askpass programs for new U2F / prompt hints
My website has fallen off the web. This is a good time for someone else to take over the code for x11-ssh-askpass, as I've not done anything with it for years. I have the original code somewhere if needed, but I think Debian has mirrored it for some time. -- jim knoble > On Nov 18, 2019, at 01:49, Jakub Jelen <jjelen at redhat.com> wrote: > >> On Mon, 2019-11-18 at 16:19
