Lost file associations, only application/octet-stream
Hi,
After updating from CentOS 4.92 to 5 through manual hacks and 'yum
update' (see http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos/2007-April/079023.html),
I've lost all gnome file associations. Now every file is identified as
application/octet-stream or text/plain or x-directory/normal (for
directories).
I've checked everything with 'rpm -Va' but couldn't find problem

Rails 3 and octet-stream content-type
Hi,
i am migration an rails 2.3 application to rails 3, and i''m having some
problems with post requests with ''octet-stream'' content-type.
The problem is that rails is not passing the octet-stream params to the
controllers. We have some mobile apps (J2ME) sending us post requests with
octet-stream content-type. It used to work until i try to migrate our

Gustavo Courault <courault@gigared.com> has solved this for me with
the following advice and I have enclosed my smb.conf file in case it
may help anyone, I'm running Samba-2.2.2 and CUPS printing to a
Epson-777 injet via a Edimax $40 printserver attached to the back of
the printer with a static IP address assigned to the printer.

Bug#678723: vif added as pif to database
Good day.
Few month ago I reported bug when vif was added as PIF to database.
Now I found way to reproduce this:

mac=f4:03:02:01:00:01
xe vif-plug uuid=$NEWVIF_UUID
xe pif-scan host-uuid=$HOST_UUID

Bug#695221: xcp-xapi: xe pif-reconfigure-ip doesn't work with non 255.255.255.0 subnet, netmask
Hello All,
This bug has been fixed upstream, for the fix see:
https://github.com/xen-org/xen-api/commit/abed1d6321a9f56822e5c7a5ce3b183e25c90bb9
If this could be applied to a patch that would be great.
Cheers,
Harrie

Fwd: SOLVED [cups] print_job: Unsupported format "application/octet-stream"
The attached message is 2001, but was the top of the list in a Google
search for the error message.
The same solution fixed a SuSE 9.3 Samba/Cups problem for a Brother
MFC 3360C printer.
Thanks!

[PATCH]: openssh.spec file for SuSE 6.4 & 7.0
Attached is a spec file for OpenSSH on SuSE 6.4 and 7.0 systems.
It differs from the current spec file in the following details:
- Only one rpm file is created containing client and server files.
- PreReq `openssl-devel' is changed to `openssl'.
- Path '/usr/libexec/ssh' is changed to '/usr/lib/ssh' for
ssh-askpass and gnome-ssh-askpass.

ror/lighttpd - HTML files via port 80 become application/octet-stream?
Hi everybody
I am trying to get RoR to work with lighttpd.
Nearly there, but I am stuck with a strange phenomenon.
If I configure lighttpd to serve pages on say port 2000, I can get at my
testapp fine and see the "Welcome aboard" page.
However, if I configure lighttpd to use port 80, I get a download prompt
from my browser.

confusion over RSAref vul w/OpenSS[HL]
Howdy,
The string of notices on BugTraq about RSAref being vulnerable to
overflows has me concerned. After trying to sort through all the
messages, I can't figure out whether I need to update OpenSSL (a
check of their website indicates no new patches), OpenSSH, both, or
neither. I am aware there is no known exploit for it yet.
I could be a bad boy and just run all

tcp-wrappers not being used even w/ --with-tcp-wrappers
Howdy,
It seems that even when specifying the --with-tcp-wrappers configure
flag, the LIBWRAP define in config.h never gets #define'd and -lwrap
never gets added to LIBS in the Makefile. To make sure I wasn't
dealing with a stale configure file, I ran autoconf on configure.in
to roll a new configure. I also don't see anything wrong with the
--with-tcp-wrappers defined in
