[patch] ssh.c load_public_identity_files calls getpwuid twice without copy
Hi,
getpwuid is called as seen in the patch, and is then called again
indirectly by tilde_expand_filename without first copying off the
results from the first call.
This is fatal on MacOSX (and it would seem it should be fatal elsewhere, too).

openssh for UWIN
I am enclosing a context diff of the changes that I made to get
openssh working on UWIN. UWIN is a UNIX operating system layer
that runs on Win32 systems. For more information on UWIN
go to http://www.research.att.com/sw/tools/uwin/.
I also ran configure using -with-cppflags=-D_BSDCOMP=2. I don't
know where that information would go with the source code.
Let me know if you need more

[PATCH] PreferAskpass in ssh_config
Moin,
attached is a patch, which adds a new configuration option
"PreferAskpass" to the ssh config.
ssh{,-add,-keygen,-agent} will use ssh-askpass to prompt for passwords, if
this option is set to "yes", and if ssh-askpass is available.
Default for "PreferAskpass" is "no".
Pacth is against current CVS.

[PATCH]: Remove HAVE_CYGWIN in favor of NO_IPPORT_RESERVED_CONCEPT
Hi,
I've sent that patch once already but it seems more or less forgotten
in the tumultuous days of the latest vulnerability.
It adds a new define NO_IPPORT_RESERVED_CONCEPT which can be defined
on platforms not supporting the concept of "privileged" ports only
accessible by privileged users but which allow everyone to use these
ports.
This patch removes some Cygwin dependencies

[PATCH] Added option 'RetryDelay'
Being rather aggrevated when testing at the enforced 1 second
delay between each connection attempt and the useless 1 second delay
done after all connection attempts have failed I wrote a patch to make
the number of seconds delayed between each connection attempt
configurable.

[Patch] User-dependent IdentityFile
Here is the user-dependent IdentityFile patch for openssh3.5 (BSD version),
which allows private key files to be placed system wide (for all users) in
a secure (non-NFS) mounted location.
This addresses an important security hole on systems where home directories
are NFS mounted, particularly if there are users who use blank passphrases
(or when lpd is tunneled through ssh on systems running lpd

[PATCH] ssh: Add option to present certificates on command line
Allow users to specify certificates to be used for authentication on
the command line with the '-z' argument when running ssh. For
successful authentication, the key pair associated with the certificate
must also be presented during the ssh.
Certificates may also be specified in ssh_config as a
CertificateFile.
This option is meant the address the issue mentioned in the following

IdentityFile patch
By the way, I noticed in the previous IdentityFile patch I forgot to
expand tilde. I fixed this by making the change in ssh.c instead of
readconf.c, which is probably where it belongs, as far as the existing code
is concerned:

[PATCH] Add user-dependent IdentityFile to OpenSSH-3.0.2p1
Here is a patch to allow private key files to be placed system wide (for
all users) in a secure (non-NFS) mounted location on systems where home
directories are NFS mounted. This is especially important for users who use
blank passphrases rather than ssh-agent (a good example of where this is
necessary is for tunnelling lpd through ssh on systems that run lpd as user
lp).

pw_expire/pw_change in current portable openssh CVS bombs
The references to pw_expire and pw_change in pwcopy() in misc.c cause
compilation errors at least on solaris. How about doing a memcpy of the
whole structure and only explicitly setting those that need xstrdup?
That would work on openbsd and everywhere else.

Pseudo-tty allocation and -T option
Hello,
I've set up a cron job to use ssh with a remote forced command to delete the
contents of a directory. System A has the cron job and uses a specific key
for system B. No command as such is specified since the key on system B
specifies 'command=/bin/rm -rf ...'. However, I am getting error messages
back from the cron system (or rather from ssh) about it not allocating a tty

compiler warnings about format strings
Is anyone bothered by the compiler warnings that indicate that the
format strings don't match the associated variables? I was, so I cast
most of the objectionable args (pids, uids, gids) to "long", and added
an "l" (el) to the format string. A single item was cast to an int.
Here's the patch. If you haven't applied my UseLogin patch, the line

AIX openssh patches
I have a few patches for AIX. The patchfile is attached below. The patch
has been tested on AIX4.2 and AIX4.3. The patch is on openssh-1.2.1pre25,
with openssl-0.94, using RSAref.
1) authenticate support - this function allows the system to determine
authentification. Whatever the system allows for login, authenticate
will too. It doesn't matter whether it is AFS, DFS, SecureID, local.

connection timeout
Attached is a patch which adds a ConnectionTimeout option, and corrects
the ConnectionAttempts documentation.
Previously, ssh would try to make a connection ConnectionAttempts times,
sleeping 1 second between tries. But each connection attempt could take a
very long time to fail if the packets die before the get to the host. So
if ssh is being run in a script or what-have-you, it might be

[PATCH]: auth.c (pwcopy): Copy pw_gecos field when build for Cygwin
Hi,
the attached patch is very important for Cygwin. I don't know
how I could have missed that for months now :-( I hope this
can be included in 2.5.1p2.
The pw_gecos field in Cygwin's /etc/passwd contains Windows
specific authentication informations which let NT domain
users logon to a machine without the need to inform the
logon server (sshd in our case) about the name of the NT
