[Bug 463] PrintLastLog doesn't work in privsep mode
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=463 ------- Additional Comments From dtucker at zip.com.au 2003-01-07 23:43 ------- Generate the message earlier in the login process and store for display after session startup? Rather than another variable for this (eg aixloginmsg, maybe __pam_msg), what about using a single Buffer for storing all of the messages to be displayed after login?

PrintLastLog option is not honored
Hi, here's another bug report against openssh with a patch included (from the same person who submitted the bug report). Would you please apply it? Thanks! > The Debian package of ssh includes patches to recognize a 'PrintLastLog' > option which can be used to disable the automatic display of the last > login time. (This is often handled by PAM.) The option is scanned and

[PATCH] PrintLastLog option
Some time ago, Ben wrote about a PrintLastLog patch: > If the person who originally submitted it wants to write a complete > patch and submit it. Then we would be happy to debate if it will be > included. Well, here it is, because: "You Asked For It!" PS: I'm tired of maintaining my own version of Debian's ssh just to have this option available, so I hope you find

Server option PrintLastLog does not work on AIX
Hi Apparently, the server option "PrintLastLog" does not work on AIX. The last login time is always displayed, disregarding the option. When browsing the code, I found out there are several functions in loginrec.c which solely handle the processing of the last login info (login_get_lastlog, getlast_entry). Since AIX does not provide such a function natively, the configure script sets

[PATCH] AIX password expiration
Hi All. With one eye on the do_pam_chauthtok() stuff I've merged contributions by Pablo Sor and Mark Pitt into a patch against -current. I'm interested in testers and suggestions for improvements. The patch extends the loginrestrictions test to include expired accounts (but unlike Mark's patch, doesn't log accounts with expired passwords unless they're locked) and adds

[PATCH] Replace AIX loginmsg with generic Buffer loginmsg
Hi All. I've decided to try to merge the -Portable parts of the password expiry patch (see bug #14) that do not depend on the OpenBSD change in bug #463. The attached patch is the first step in this process. It removes the AIX-specific "char *aixloginmsg" and replaces it with a platform-neutral "Buffer loginmsg". I think this is worth having in -Portable even if it

[Bug 355] No last login message with PrivSep under AIX
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=355 ------- Additional Comments From dtucker at zip.com.au 2002-08-25 18:10 ------- It looks like the call to loginsuccess() fails because it's done as a non-privileged user. This is bad because in addition to generating the message it also clears the failed login counter that leads to account lockout. The following patch fixes it for me

PAM and passwd age warnings again.
Hi all, This is a patch against 4.2p1 (compiling for a Linux --- an old, highly customized 7.2 to be specific). When I compiled it from your original source, installed it, and turned on PAM (for passwd aging), I couldn't get the passwd expiration warnings as specified in /etc/shadow to work at all (the message that is supposed to warn you as you're logging in that your passwd will expire

loginmsg bug
Cf. http://seclists.org/fulldisclosure/2008/Jul/0090.html This Mrdkaaa character claims to have exploited this, but does not say how. The issue is that if do_pam_account() fails, do_authloop() will call packet_disconnect() with loginmsg as the format string (classic printf(foo) instead of printf("%s", foo) bug). The stuff that do_authloop() appends to loginmsg is harmless (the user

AIX authenticate patches
Here are some patches to re-enable support for AIX's authenticate routines. With them, ssh will honor locked & unlocked accounts, record successful and unsuccessful logins, and deny accounts that are prohibited to log in via the network. Tested with AIX 4.3. It also includes a fix for handling SIGCHLD that may be needed for other platforms (HP-UX 10.20, for example). If I get the time

[PATCH #9] Password expiration via /bin/passwd.
This is an attempt to simplify the AIX expiry-via-passwd stuff and make it more generic. (There's actually a net reduction in #ifdefs). Patch against CVS: 1) configure finds passwd. 2) sshd uses passwd during session if required. 3) sshd uses passwd for PAM change if privsep disabled. 4) sshd uses Buffers for expire and post-login messages (no longer AIX specific). 5) password_change_required
