I''m trying to compile Xen unstable on NetBSD, I''ve aplied the patches
from http://cvsweb.netbsd.org/bsdweb.cgi/pkgsrc/sysutils/xentools41/patches/?only_with_tag=MAIN

remote DoS in sftp via crafted glob expressions (CVE-2010-4755)
Hi folks.
We were made aware of a MITRE CVE assignment on OpenSSH for a remote DoS
in sftp, described as:
The (1) remote_glob function in sftp-glob.c and the (2) process_put
function in sftp.c in OpenSSH 5.8 and earlier, as used in FreeBSD 7.3
and 8.1, NetBSD 5.0.2, OpenBSD 4.7, and other products, allow remote
authenticated users to cause a denial of service (CPU and memory
consumption) via

artifact bug status? / compiling under OpenBSD 2.8
Hi!
On March 17th I posted a message on this list concerning an artifact bug
in beta4 that is audible in all available bitrates. It was this rumbling
sound in the bass area. I made a demo clip, which still is available at
http://www.stud.uni-karlsruhe.de/~us87/ogg/vorbis_bassrumble_demo.rar
and that contains both the original .WAV and an .OGG @ 350kbps. This
archive is 2.1 MB large.
Today, I

unsafe_symlink change (Re: CVS update: rsync)
The patch from 2-1/2 years ago for changing copy-unsafe-links to follow
unsafe links on the destination side also included essentially this patch.
When I looked at it, however, I asked why in the world is unsafe_symlink()
doing strdup() in the first place. I think you could get rid of the
calls to strdup() and the new local variables and possibly do a couple
casts inside the function instead.

Palm m50x & the USB stack
[It seems the last time this came up was in march, under the heading of "Sony
Cybershot should be in hardware notes". This message is intended mainly to
document what I've managed to track down.]
The m500s still will not sync with pilot-link 0.11.7 in -STABLE. An easily
triggerable panic is another issue [1]. The pilot-link code first opens
/dev/ugenX and then switches to

Patch that allows equal sign in options
Hi,
Here is a patch for release 1.2.2 that allows the use of '=' instead
of whitespace when specifying options. For options on the commandline,
it can be useful to be able to avoid whitespace in some situations.
best regards and thanks for the patch regarding segfaulting with PAM,
Stefan

2 (very old) bugs?
Hi everybody,
Is someone can confirm me that there are 2 bugs never fixed:
- first in the stat command. Only with the -x option. If you execute
stat -x on /tmp or /usr/bin/passwd parameters for example, the
numeric representation of mode is wrong. The "special" bits are
always 0. No suid-bit, no sticky bit!
- Second. Because of a missing suid-bit on the newgrp command, this

Using strtok via win32/api
Hi all,
I''m having a little trouble with strtok:
require ''win32/api''
include Win32
strtok = API.new(''strtok'', ''PP, ''P'', ''msvcrt'')
string = "A string\tof ,,tokens\nand some more tokens";
seps = " ,\t\n";
puts "Tokens:"
token = strtok.call(string, seps)

random pool depletion
I'm facing a problem with dovecot 1.0 test-59; ever since I installed it
and use it my random pool is always depleted whenever someone opens an
imap connection. This wouldn't be too bad if the machine was used
interactively, but since it is not and other services read directly from
/dev/random those are sometimes blocked due to dovecot depleting the
pool by reading /dev/urandom.
Thus

Hi List,
This may be a little of an unorthodox question as it somewhat defeats
the purpose of encryption, but I'm currently attempting to put together
a high-interactive iPhone honeypot project as part of my thesis for a
masters course in security and forensics. The project blog is located at

OpenSSH-2.1.1p2: Is this misuse of strtok?
Is this a misuse of strtok() in OpenSSH-2.1.1p2?
readconf.c:process_config_line() calls strtok() to
parse config lines. When it finds oProtocol it calls
compat.c:proto_spec() which in turns uses strtok().
However on return of proto_spec(), process_config_line() calls
strtok() once more to (quoting from the source code)
/* Check that there is no garbage at end of line. */
But surely strtok()

Question regarding alignment patch
Contrast
http://cvsweb.mindrot.org/index.cgi/openssh/monitor_fdpass.c?r1=1.23;r2=1.24
with
http://www.openbsd.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb/src/usr.bin/ssh/monitor_fdpass.c.diff?r1=1.14&r2=1.15
The original replaces cmsgbuf.tmp with cmsgbuf.buf, while the -portable
version *adds* cmsgbuf.buf but retains cmsgbuf.tmp.
I assume this was an oversight, and cmsgbuf.tmp should be removed?

Re: [nut-commits] svn commit r755 - in trunk: . clients
Great, thanks! Two questions:
* what is a domain literal? Is this something like 192.168.0.1? In
this case, the '[]' are probably unnecessary.
* are you sure you want to use fprintf(stderr, ...) in a library?
This doesn't seem like a good idea to me. Wouldn't it be more
consistent to extend upscli_errlist[] ?
