Re: unable to dissect libvirt rpc packets using wireshark plugin
Thank you Michal. With your pcap, I could confirm that, libvirt dissector worked in my environment as well. Yes, it could be that, my pcap do not have libvirt rpc packets correctly though I would have expected. I am checking on it. Re: unable to dissect libvirt rpc packets using wireshark plugin
Hi Michal, Thank you for your suggestion. My apologies that I took sometime to get back on further confirmation. Regrettably, my tshark is still unable to find libvirt payload inside packet capture, though it lists libvirt as a possible filter. # rpm -ql libvirt-wireshark-1.2.9.3-2.fc21.x86_64 /usr/lib64/wireshark/plugins/1.12.5/libvirt.so As I used wireshark 1.12.6 version, I

unable to dissect libvirt rpc packets using wireshark plugin
Hi, I am trying libvirt plugin in wireshark to dissect RPC payload in TCP, but finding dissector code not really working. My env is Fedora core 21 (x86_64) and installed packages are as follow: wireshark-1.12.6-1.fc21.x86_64 libvirt-wireshark-1.2.9.3-2.fc21.x86_64 Earlier, just after installation, I noticed libvirt.so available only in /usr/lib64/wireshark/plugins/1.12.5/ . Problems with PAM and PermitRootLogin without-password
Hello all, I was running some tests with openssh 3.7.1p2 and I noticed that PermitRootLogin without-password does not work when PAM is enabled. In fact, when PAM is enabled, PermitRootLogin will work as "yes" if " without-password" is used, no matter what kind of authentication is used for root login. Is that a bug, I missed something in the configurations, or expected

Question regarding encryption
Hi, According to IETF draft draft-ietf-secsh-transport-14.txt, different ciphers(encryption), MAC and compression can be used for one direction say server-to-client and a completely different cipher, MAC and compression for the other direction client-to-server of the same connection. Is this supported today in OpenSSH, and if not, are there plans to support it in any future releases of the

Possible bug: Putty's psftp doesn't work when priv-sep is turned on
Hi List(s) A customer of mine reported that sftp didn't work for them. It seems to work just fine for me on that system, and after checking into it I noticed that the customer used psftp, while I use sftp from either cygwin or the linux version from openssh. The openssh version of sftp works in all cases, priv-sep on or off. However, the putty psftp breaks as soon as I turn on priv-sep

openssh password aging/expiration on Solaris 8
Hello there, We have several Solaris 8 systems. We recently and successfully configured and installed Openssh3.5. However, we haven't been able to set up password aging/expiration on these boxes. Users are not being notified when their passwords are approaching expiration nor they are able to change their passwords when password expiration is forced on their next login. When password

((AllowUsers || AllowGroups) && !(AllowUsers && AllowGroups))
Hey everyone, After discussing the AllowGroups I think I've discovered a bug. The system is a solaris 8 system and the problem is that when I use AllowGroups with no AllowUsers args, the proper actions happen. Same with AllowUsers and no AllowGroups. When I try to combine the two, none of the Allow directives seem to take. Is it just me or maybe a bug? -James

[Patch] User-dependent IdentityFile
Here is the user-dependent IdentityFile patch for openssh3.5 (BSD version), which allows private key files to be placed system wide (for all users) in a secure (non-NFS) mounted location. This addresses an important security hole on systems where home directories are NFS mounted, particularly if there are users who use blank passphrases (or when lpd is tunneled through ssh on systems running lpd

Re: unable to dissect libvirt rpc packets using wireshark plugin
Hi Michal, By the way, I noticed ipv6 loopback IP addresses in your pcap. As I normally try to capture on nic where migration carried out, I thought of checking with you if your wireshark could dissect libvirt RPC in such pcap too (captured on a nic) ?. During migration, I do not see any traffic on loopback and I think it is expected, but thinking how you get those captured ?. Any

AIX and openssh 3.7.1p2 with privsep
I am attempting to run openssh 3.7.1p2 with privsep on AIX 5.2 ML2 (with the december 2003 critical patches also). This was compiled on the host machine with the IBM Visual Age C compiler (C for AIX Compiler, Version 5). I did not have any trouble compiling. My configure was ./configure --with-tcp-wrappers, and I have the freeware tcp wrappers (freeware.tcp_wrappers.rte 7.6.1.5), and a compiled

sshd terminates a session after a successful login
I've recently upgraded our environment to OpenSSH-3.7.1p1 on Solaris, AIX and IRIX. I have had no luck when it comes to getting the IRIX environment to work. With sshd running on an IRIX server, I connect with any other version/OS ssh, watch the connection establish, get right up to the point where the shell should spawn and sshd terminates. I have been unable to find any information online

Connecting Asterisk and BT Versatility PBX via NT BRI port
Hi All, I've a BT Versatility PBX that I want to connect to my asterisk 11.9.0 box via BRI port in NT mode but actually I wasn't able to get it working. I've another standalone PBX, it's a Panasonic model, which works fine connected to the same port. The BT connected to a UK BT BRI line works quite fine after roughly a minute once connected. The PBX can be seen at
