File transfers to Windows XP x64 stalling and dying after a few minutes.
I just did a fresh install of Windows XP Professional x64 on my primary machine, and am reconnecting all of my LAN services. One thing I have on my home network is a dedicated file server, running Ubuntu and Samba, used as a general file server, as well as a backup for when I reformatted my main system. While attempting to restore some of my files, I started noticing some odd errors. After a

fxp: stalled transfers
Hello, after upgrading my system from 7.1-RELEASE to recent RELENG_7 I noticed stalled network transfers in certain cases. I have an Intel PRO/100 ethernet adapter (card=0x00408086 chip=0x12298086 rev=0x0c). In general networking works fine. I can ping hosts, surf on websites and so on. But if I send large files (>1 MB) to my server the transfer stalls after a few kilobytes. This concerns FTP

Large File Copy to Large ext3 RAID5 Array Often Stalls
I'm experiencing strange behavior from my ext3 RAID5 array and my Fedora Core 2 system. Before I go crazy varying all sorts of tuning parameters, I thought some list subscribers might provide me with useful advice. The problematic array is: 3x Promise Technology Ultra 100 TX2 PCI cards 6x Maxtor 250GB IDE drives (one drive per cable) RAID level 5, 128Kb chunk size, EXT3: "mkfs -t ext3

File transfers to Windows XP x64 stalling and dying after a few minutes. [SOLVED]
just wanted to post to the list that i just had a very very similar issue to Geoff's but in this case the client OS (using samba as a file server) was Windows Server 2003 x64 R2 SP1 and the samba version was 3.0.24. After much googling and config trial-and-error, i found that upgrading to the recently-released Windows Server 2003 SP2 alleviated my problem. I also corresponded with Geoff

rsync hangs/stalls on long filenames
Hi! I'm using (the excellent) rsync utility to do backup on several large www-servers. The backup machine runs in daemon mode. However, once in a while the backup hangs/stalls eternally. Using lsof I've been able to determine that this happens only when rsync has reached some file with an unusually long path. Details: ### General ### - Both machines involved run linux, kernel 2.4.19 -

PROBLEM: I/O stalls when running fstress against multi-device fs
Chris: I can consistently reproduce I/O stalls when running fstress (as found in Autotest) against a six volume btrfs filesystem mounted without options. The volumes are independent disks from RAID controllers, and the test systems are eight core Intel and AMD machines running current btrfs-unstable. The stalls occur at variable times into the runs. The affected system ceases to do I/O

Stalls and closes
Hi, Trying to SSH to a server over an OPENVPN link, and it seems to be stalling , and then closing the connection. Can I do some command line magic to stop the stall, or get a password in before it closes? vjofn% ssh -v tuc at 10.2.0.2 OpenSSH_3.5p1 FreeBSD-20030924, SSH protocols 1.5/2.0, OpenSSL 0x0090704f debug1: Reading configuration data /etc/ssh/ssh_config debug1: Rhosts Authentication

Imaptest stalls when removing msgs argument
I have had this imaptest[1] stall. I compared this command with what you have on the website and I was a bit surprised that what is on the website is working. What I have noticed is that if you remove this msgs argument, the imaptest stalls. I am not sure if this is according to design, but one might expect that specifying a secs, makes specifying msgs redundant? [1] imaptest - append=100,0

[External] Mitigating Stalls Caused by Call Deparse on Error
Better to add this to the wishlist item. This all needs to be looked at together, and nothing is likely to happen until after vacation/conference season. It will disappear from everyone's radar if it is just in R_devel. Best, luke On Sun, 14 Jul 2019, brodie gaslam wrote: > Luke, thanks for considering the issue.? Pulling stalls before 52MB (works via netcat)
I can push fine over ssh but pulling via rsync or scp always stalls at about the same point which must be between 26MB and 52MB. I can pull via netcat just fine. I've tried compiling HPN out of the install on both the client and server and I've tried -C on the client with the same result. I'm on Gentoo. Any ideas? - Grant

Samba stalls
Hi all, I have an HP Proliant 115 (Dual Core Opteron) server with 4GB of RAM set up as a PDC with an identical machine acting as BDC. The PDC has an LDAP backend and I'm planning to add an LDAP slave on the BDC. Both are running Redhat EL5 with Samba 3.0.28. The problem I have though is that after a period of time, samba seems to stall. Initially, I put it down to the Opteron dual

HP Blade Gen 7 and 8 IO stall with ciss driver
hello Since a while we're experiencing completely I/O stalls / stopps with some HP Blade Hardware and FreeBDS 9.1. If it occurs, we have to power cycle the server to recover. The stalls occur only every few days to weeks, so it's difficult to reproduce them; we also tried to do a lot of I/O (e.g. scrubbing nonstop) but this didn't help to reproduce more often; taking load away from

Rsync stalls
I am trying to rsync a machine running CYGWIN_NT-5.2 server 1.5.24(0.156/4/2) to another which runs FreeBSD 6.2-STABLE; both with rsync 2.6.9. I'm trying to "pull" the files from the Cygwin machine with: /usr/local/bin/rsync -avz --delete --delete-excluded -e "ssh" [user]@[host]:"/cygdrive/e/Shared" /home/[host] However, rsync stalls.
