[Bug 405] getaddrinfo delays
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405 ------- Additional Comments From dgp at nist.gov 2002-09-28 03:39 ------- BTW, it seems strange to me that when HAVE_GETADDRINFO is undefined or false, the code still makes calls to getaddrinfo(). Is this configuration support just incomplete? ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are

Probably broken getaddrinfo() on Solaris x86.
Hi, I discovered a strange problem with the latest version (2.9.9p2) and previous versions of OpenSSH when using portforwarding und Solaris 8 x86. It seems like the getaddrinfo() function on Solaris 8 x86 is somehow broken, instead of binding a port to 127.0.0.1, OpenSSH tried to bind it to 1.0.0.127 (1.0.0.127 was the ai->ai_addr returned by getaddrinfo() in channel.c). I could not

darwin getaddrinfo
in configure.ac, we AC_DEFINE(BROKEN_GETADDRINFO) for *-darwin-* platforms. recent Darwin fixed getaddrinfo to work as specified in RFC2553, so the case clause is not needed for recent Darwin. still not sure when it was corrected. anyone has a clue? itojun

getaddrinfo() problem with AIX 4.3.3 and rsync 2.5.2?
I had to apply the following patch to the clientname.c check_name() function before I could successfully use "hosts allow" in rsyncd.conf. Without the patch I kept getting "rsync: forward name lookup for ... failed: Host not found" errors. These errors were produced by the rsync daemon, and putting in a debugging statement revealed that the port_buf being used had a large

Re: [nut-commits] svn commit r731
Hi Arjen, in server/upsd.c r731, you moved the call conf_load() from after check_perms() (~ l.1020) to before setupsignals() (~ l.989). The problem is that conf_load() needs to open the ups driver socket, and it assumes that STATEPATH is the current working directory. The directory is only set in l.1016. Therefore, the first attempt to open a socket will always fail. From the user's point of

[PATCH 1/1] Staging: hv: util: kvp: Cleanup kvp_get_domain_name()
Cleanup kvp_get_domain_name(). If getaddrinfo() fails, deal with it properly (this can happen if no IP address has been assigned). Also, don't specify a specific service in the call to getaddrinfo() to make this code as generic as possible. Lastly, move the call to gethostname() after the local variables. Signed-off-by: K. Y. Re: [nut-commits] svn commit r708 - in trunk: . clients server
With the Ipv6 patch (r708), I get: upsclient.c: In function `upscli_connect': upsclient.c:469: `AI_ADDRCONFIG' undeclared (first use in this function) upsclient.c:469: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once upsclient.c:469: for each function it appears in.) Even if it doesn't break IPv4 support, it may break portability, as IPv6 seems to require specific functions that are

another possible mem leak, AIX-specific
On AIX, the config.h generated by 'configure' sets up the following directives: #define HAVE_FREEADDRINFO 1 #define HAVE_GETADDRINFO 1 #define BROKEN_GETADDRINFO 1 This allows the compiler to use the 'getaddrinfo()' routine in fake-getaddrinfo.c, but it uses the 'freeaddrinfo()' provided by AIX. I don't think 'freeaddrinfo()' is releasing the linked list

PATCH: multiple BindAddress
Hello all, I recently have a problem with multiple addresses and address families. Problem is simple, i have some hosts with IPv4 access only and some with IPv6 access. This wouldn't be big problem if I had a stable IP addresses. But sometimes I move to another network with complete different addresses. So I created patch which on option BindAddress accept list of addresses. With ip I solved

RFC 8305 Happy Eyeballs in OpenSSH
Hello, I use hosts that are dual stack configured (IPv4 and IPv6) and it happens that connectivity through one or the other is broken and timeouts. In these case connection to the SSH server can take quite some time as ssh waits for the first address to timeout before trying the next. So I gave a stab at implementing RFC 8305. This patch implements part of it in sshconnect.c. * It does not do

"rsync --daemon" and IPv4/v6 dual stack
on systems that has separate IPv4/v6 socket layer (i.e. IPv4 packet does not get routed to AF_INET6 socket) rsync --daemon would accept IPv6 sessions only. open_socket_in() tries to deal with the situation, but it was not enough. here's the patch. (it is required on all *BSDs to accept both IPv4 and IPv6 connections with --daemon mode) itojun --- ? configure.lineno ? lib/dummy
