Option to limiting sshd "banner" to interactive/password-auth/tty (or something along those lines) sessions
Hi.
It would be of utmost utility if there were a way to cause the sshd
"banner" configuration setting to only print the banner in certain
circumstances.
What I'm actually after is avoiding printing out the banner for
non-interactive sessions, so that if I run "ssh somehost ls" I don't get
the login banner, but if I just type "ssh somehost" I do (at

Variable declarations in xcrypt.c
Hi All.
I noticed that xcrypt.c now has some variable declarations after code
within a block (for some sets of #ifdef's). Won't that choke some
compilers? Should it do something like the attached?

Good procedure?
Hi,
I'm looking for a procedure (on paper first) to provide users on hosts
session keys to login to servers providing services like file, print
or even access to internet or a sql db.
The first step is that user has to authenticate on the local host via
password. Paswword and usernames are centrally managed via ldap (or
simular).
The second step is that the user on host logs in to the CA

Samba, ldap, password complexity, cracklib - questions
Hallo,
we run a Redhat samba 3.5.4 PDC with openldap 2.4 as
user/passwordbackend. The ldap also contains the posix information for
the users to login to some web/mail/etc. servers.
I'm faced with the task to implement a 'both worlds' compatible paswword
sync process regarding complexity etc.
For the posix account password we use a webfrontend, configure to use
pam/cracklib checks

Patches for failing build & bus error on SPARC/Linux
All -
For those installs on crusty old hardware and OS releases, here are
patches to fix two OpenSSH problems on sparc redhat 4.2 systems.
1. `Old PAM' #defines different - build fails with undefined symbols when
PAM used.
2. Running ssh on sparc hardware results in bus error on some connection
negotiations. Unaligned data on call to inet_ntoa() results in bus
error.

20s delay with nsswitch winbind
Hello
I have installed winbind into nsswitch according to Samba HOWTO Chapter
21 Winbind: Use of Domain Accounts.
However when I log in from console as unix user (who hasn't any account
in the samba) I get a 20s delay.
This is what the 12th console says:

Limiting an authorized key to scp access
Hi.
I've attempted to restrict a certain authorized key to running scp
(using the command=... prefix), but without much luck; has anyone set this
up before? I'm not sure if it's because scp on the server end gets command
line parameters, or for some other reason.
I've fallen back to using sftp instead, which I have been able to restrict
an authorized key to, but the

CVS woes under HPUX 10.20
<sigh>
Ever since the -lsec/-lsecurity tests in configure were "fixed", post
beta2, I cannot compile any version of Samba 2.x on HPUX 10.20. The only
options set with configure are --prefix= and --with-mmap. The differences
seem to be reversed settings for availability of getspnam, bigcrypt,
getprpwnam, and set_auth_parameters (in config.cache) and for the related
defines in

Inclusive language in LLVM: can we rename `master` branch?
I agree with this. As much as I dislike the name that I believe github will choose, we should just do whatever everyone else is doing.
Note that in addition to the github discussion, there is some extensive discussion on the .git mailing list (IIRC) about choosing a new name as well. I hope github waits until that choses a name as well.

Inclusive language in LLVM: can we rename `master` branch?
While I appreciate this sentiment we should not block our changes on a
project over which we have no control. Changing the name and the
documentation is easy and we should do this today.
Thanks.
