Patch to configure.ac (3.7p1)
This new patch is for 3.7p1. It only modifies configure.ac; no C source.
Can someone *please* apply?

cross compilation?
../openssh-3.1p1/configure --host=mips-linux --build=i686-linux --with-pam
does not work.
It selects the correct toolchain prefix, but the configure script bails
on cross-compilation.
Attached is a patch that *might* make the right paranoid assumptions,
but I am not positive.

adaptive bandwidth
Thanks Dragos,
I assume I will be setting those parameters during initialization of
encoder right?
Question is, if connection gets too lossy, how will opus adapt to it? Can
it automatically shift bitrate down to minimize impact?
Mark from IRC suggests that the app has to be aware of the losses and
change it on the fly.
Has anybody on the list tried this?

rpart$where and predict.rpart
Hello there. I have fitted a rpart model.
> rpartModel <- rpart(y~., data=data.frame(y=y,x=x),method="class", ....)
and can use rpart$where to find out the terminal nodes that each
observations belongs.
Now, I have a set of new data and used predict.rpart which seems to give
only the predicted value with no information similar to rpart$where.
May I know how

remote DoS in sftp via crafted glob expressions (CVE-2010-4755)
Hi folks.
We were made aware of a MITRE CVE assignment on OpenSSH for a remote DoS
in sftp, described as:
The (1) remote_glob function in sftp-glob.c and the (2) process_put
function in sftp.c in OpenSSH 5.8 and earlier, as used in FreeBSD 7.3
and 8.1, NetBSD 5.0.2, OpenBSD 4.7, and other products, allow remote
authenticated users to cause a denial of service (CPU and memory
consumption) via

predict rpart: new data has new level
Hi. I uses rpart to build a regression tree. Y is continuous. Now, I try
to predict on a new set of data. In the new set of data, one of my x (call
Incoterm, a factor) has a new level.
I wonder why the error below appears as the guide says "For factor
predictors, if an observation contains a level not used to grow the tree, it
is left at the deepest possible node and

Incorporating code from sftp-glob.c into lftp
As you might know, LFTP is a popular FTP/SFTP command-line client for
most systems. One feature that is lacking from this tool is the
ability to do a globbed ls via sftp. I have a patch ready for LFTP
that incorporates some of the knowledge [like oddball systems glob()
handling] and some of the code from sftp-glob.c for this tool to add
this capability. I do, however, have some questions about

sftp needs a long time for sending a filelist
Hello all
Im using sftp 1:4.7p1-8ubuntu1.2
in a batchjob
Ive noticed that sftp needs a long time for sending a filelist.
The timespan increases exponential if many files are on the
remoteserver.
for example "ls -la *.txt" needs 10 seconds for 2000 files
but needs 50 seconds for 4000 files.
For 150.000 Files i have to wait 15 minutes for example
but the

nonlinear constrained optimization
Hi. I need some advises on how to use R to find pi (i is the index) with
the following objective function and constraint:
max (sum i)[ f(ai, bi, pi) * g(ci, di, pi) * Di ]
s.t. (sum i)[ f(ai, bi, pi) * Di * pi] / (sum i)[ f(ai, bi, pi) * Di ] <=
constant
f and g are diffentiable.
So, I am thinking of optim with method = "BFGS"? But wonder how to include

I was going to try this on Kali Linux (latest version), but ran into
trouble right away. No "configure" script exists
