sshd 3.1 dumps core when client connects -- Solaris 9 gcc 3.1
Team - I'm running Solaris 9 and gcc 3.1 on a Blade 1000, named jefferson. I built OpenSSH_3.3. I can use the client to connect out, but cannot use the client to connect to localhost (nor can I use a Linux box with OpenSSH_3.2.3 to connect to it). I *can* use F-Secure 3.0.0 on a Windoze box to get into it. I've tried configurations both with and without privsep enabled but get the same

OpenSSH 3.4p1 on SourceMage client ssh fails
Hi guys, I have a OpenSSH 3.4p1 installation on a SourceMage box, and I am trying to connect to a OpenSSH 3.3p1 installation on a RedHat 7.x box and any other machine. The client fails with a "Host key verification failed." Any other client connects correctly to the RedHat box, and any other server that I try to connect to from the SourceMage box fails with the same error message.

openssh-3.3p1 and SPARC
Hi; I just attempted to install openssh-3.3p1 on a Sparc box running linux kernel 2.2.14-5.0 However any attempt to connect to the daemon causes a crash. (See below) Given the current security issue, will there be an available option for running the up coming 3.4 release on a Linux 2.2 kernel? Bob ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><>

Problems with PAM and PermitRootLogin without-password
Hello all, I was running some tests with openssh 3.7.1p2 and I noticed that PermitRootLogin without-password does not work when PAM is enabled. In fact, when PAM is enabled, PermitRootLogin will work as "yes" if " without-password" is used, no matter what kind of authentication is used for root login. Is that a bug, I missed something in the configurations, or expected

AIX and openssh 3.7.1p2 with privsep
I am attempting to run openssh 3.7.1p2 with privsep on AIX 5.2 ML2 (with the december 2003 critical patches also). This was compiled on the host machine with the IBM Visual Age C compiler (C for AIX Compiler, Version 5). I did not have any trouble compiling. My configure was ./configure --with-tcp-wrappers, and I have the freeware tcp wrappers (freeware.tcp_wrappers.rte 7.6.1.5), and a compiled

sshd terminates a session after a successful login
I've recently upgraded our environment to OpenSSH-3.7.1p1 on Solaris, AIX and IRIX. I have had no luck when it comes to getting the IRIX environment to work. With sshd running on an IRIX server, I connect with any other version/OS ssh, watch the connection establish, get right up to the point where the shell should spawn and sshd terminates. I have been unable to find any information online

sshd version OpenSSH_5.4p1 fails on OpenBSD 4.2 GENERIC macppc
Because OpenSSH_5.4 doesn't build on my OpenBSD 4.2 box, I tried OpenSSH_5.4p1 which builds and installs fine. After starting server with sudo /opt/sbin/sshd -p 2222 -d, my ssh client can connect, but the session is closed by server as soon as it is started: [...] User child is on pid 10318 debug1: Entering interactive session for SSH2. debug1: server_init_dispatch_20 debug1:

sshd 5.6p1 does not accept connections in fips mode
Hi, I was trying to run sshd after applying the fips patches mentioned in http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/engine?do=post_attachment;postatt_id=1835;list=openssh but for some reason sshd refuses to accept the connection. I guess I do something terribly wrong. Is there a reason that this is bound to fail? These 5.6 patches were the most recent I could find. Are there any fips patches
