Traffic Accounting
Hi,
I'm trying to find out how to do traffic accounting with Dovecot 2.x,
preferrably v2.0.9, preferrably on CentOS 6.
I've previously asked on IRC, but there was little feedback, and my
understanding is now this list is the preferred media for such
inquiries. If I recall correctly, some weeks ago I was told that traffic
accounting is not officially supported on Dovecot 2, but that there

traffic accounting again
HI ,
Please for advice. How I can get traffic from classes and to write it
into mysql database. Probably this question is often asked but I cannot
find good solution. Main problem that I try to fix is that when I do traffic
accounting for network with huge number of IP addresses from Linux most of
accounting systems doesn''t work very well and made big load of CPU

Traffic accounting patch
Hello,
I like to force openssh (latest version) to log traffic accounting
information via syslog. I managed to path openssh with a ported version of
the traffic accounting patch for 2.5.1
The ported patch however is not by me.
The problem is that I noticed that sftp subsystem usage is not logged when
clients (the offical ssh client seems to do it) do not log off but simply
disconnect somehow.

Traffic Accounting
Hello,
Is there an easy way, either by scripting or some software project or
something similar, to do automatic traffic accounting. I am looking to be
able to give each host on my LAN a specific quota of data transfer for a
given previous period of time, for example 1 GB in the previous 24 hours. If
they exceed that limit, I would like to be able to have the system
automatically rate limit

Ip traffic accounting and HTB
Hi, I''m using HTB for bandwidth control, but i''m still not sure how to
account the traffic. My config is the following: eth0 goes to internet and
eth1 to the clients(I''m shaping both ifaces). I want to log ip traffic
from and to the clients. Since htb shapes outgoing traffic I''m not sure
how to make the iptables script.
This is the script:

Traffic accounting with samba on per-user-basis - possible?
Hello,
I would like to account the amount of traffic caused by accessing the samba
file server on a per-(samba)-user basis. However I did not find any clear
information like "XYZ bytes of data transferred" in the logfile (with
loglevel10). Is there a nice way to extract this information from the
logfiles? Has anybody done this?
Do you know any other way to account this traffic? Since

IP traffic accounting and shorewall
Hi,
I need a suggestion about how to set up a shorewall configuration so that I
can log the traffic size being downloaded through a shorewall dedicated box.
I need to log time, source IP, size of the transfer, protocol(s) and ports,
destination IP (looking from inside the LAN, I mean :-)
Whenever possible, I''d like to resolve the source IP with our existing
internal DNS, so that I

Accounting package recommendations
I have an accountant, but still need todo my part from the business'
end. They don't invoice my clients. Quickbooks works very well, but
keeps me stuck in Windows land.
It's just as well saying I cannot drive a car cause I don't want to
learn how to overhaul the engine, or I cannot be a system admin cause
I don't want to learn how the electronics on the PC boards work.

Simply Accounting on Samba 2.2.5
Hello,
I have recently migrated my Win NT4 server to Linux with Samba 2.2.5 :-)
One of the applications we need to run is Simply Accounting 9.0 / 2003 in
multi-user mode. The company that makes Simply Accounting sais the data
must be shared from Win NT,2000 or XP but sharing it through Win 95,98 or
Samba could corrupt it. I know that Simply Accounting stores the data in
.SDB database file

Redesigned Accounting
The current CVS version (/Shorewall project) contains a redesigned IP
accounting facility. The new facility is:

b) More flexible. :-)
c) Compatible with bw-acct. :-)

There''s a new Accounting Page available at:

Duplicate Radius accounting in Asterisk.
Hello list.
I'm having some problems with the CDR Radius in my Asterisk 1.4. I'm
using two TC400B cards for transcoding. When I reach nearly 100
simmultaneous calls, the CDR radius packets are being duplicated and I'm
getting this message in the asterisk console :
cdr_radius.c:227 radius_log: Failed to record Radius CDR record!
I'm also using the radiusclient-ng 0.5.6

kernel memory accounting
First - why in the world would you want to disable kernel memory
accounting? I don't think that is even possible (despite not being a
kernel programmer myself) because the kernel must needs account for
every bit of real and virtual memory in the system in order to do its job.
Second - the first note in the doc to which you refer says that it is
hopelessly out of date and further down it
