Latest Dell SC430 Compatibility With Wildcard
Anyone knows if the SC430, based on the Intel E7230 chipset, is compatible with the Digium cards? I've tried the compatibility page on digium's website. It seems like they've pulled the old compatibility list, now the links on the page only point back to the product pages. Over here, Dell is selling (for a short period of time), SC430 with Pentium D 820 Dual Core Processor 2.8GHz,

SATA detect fails on ICH7 chipset / Dell Poweredge SC430
Hi, I have a Dell Poweredge SC420 and a SC430. The SC420 has an ICH6 chipset and works ok with Xen. The SC430 has an ICH7 chipset and the SATA detection fails. I''ve tried 2.6.11.10 and 2.6.12.5 kernels, with Xen 2.0.7, Xen-testing and Xen-unstable, all with the same results. I''m using the same hypervisor and kernel binaries, so problems with the compiler environment etc. have

Centos 4 and Supermicro ICH7R
Hi: I've tried to install centos 4.3 in a raid array, setuped on bios as mode "Adaptec". The chip is ICH7R but centos always sees 2 drives instead of the array that I create. I've contacted Supermicro support and they gave me this link ftp://ftp.supermicro.com/driver/SATA/Adaptec_ICH7R/Linux/Redhat/ , but the disk drivers I tried to use with centos 4.3 did not work, saying that

Row order in plot
I'm new to R so forgive me if this seems like a simple question: So I have table where the row titles are string variables. When I plot the data with rows along the x-axis, the data is ordered alphabetically as opposed to the order of the table. How can I preserve the row order of the table in the plot? Thanks in advance. -- View this message in context:

Recommended rack-mountable server anyone?
Hey everyone, I've been doing a lot of research into a decent server for Asterisk but I seem to be running and circles and now I am turning to you. The issue I have is it needs to be rack mountable (so a Dell SC430 isn't going to work) and preferably have 3 pci ports. The problem that I seem to be running into is that when I look at servers from Dell or IBM or the like they only seem to

4kB sector size HDDs
Hello again. Do any of you have one of the 'new' HDDs with 4kB Sectors currently in use? I would upgrade to the 4kB disks but I don't know if this might be problematic as I intend to use ZFS w/ RAIDz or at least a classic RAID6. How might this affect performance under 5.5 and how do I go about setting up the alignment of the partitions I use? Kind regards Dawid Horace

Need to pick your brain for recommendation on using 2.5" or 3.5" HDDs for Asterisk server...
Hi Everyone, I am stack between two identical systems (2U Twin2, 4 nodes, SuperMicro) servers that have the same exact specs except for HDDs. These nodes will all either have Asterisk installed with CentOS or will have Asterisk install in virtual environment. Option 1: *12* x 3.5" HDD (3 HDDs per node) Option 2: *24* x 2.5" HDD (6 HDDs per node) **both options come to the same price.

How can I tell wich HDD to swap, when the "cat /proc/mdstat" says one HDD of the RAID1 array has died? Does the HDD's has some serial numbers, that I can see in "reality", and I can get that number from e.g.: a commands output? How could I know wich HDD to swap in e.g.: a RAID1 array? thank you -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment

Installing CentOS 2.1 on ICH7R controller
I'm trying to install CentOS 2.1 on SATA drive that lives on ICH7R controller. I have the controller setup in BIOS to "compatibility" mode, which means it should look just like regular IDE controller to the OS. In this mode, ide0 and ide1 are PATA controllers, and 4 SATA ports are mapped to ide2 and ide3. If I boot from the 2.1 installation CD, all the drives are detected

Motherboards
Does anyone have any experience with Super-Micro brand motherboards // dual Xeon cpu's? Had to swap out my Tyan piece of junk and going back with the S-M board. I believe it has similar north/southbridge chips on it -- at least they are the intel MCH ICH5R and PXH plus the 82546GB. One area that the Tyan board was seriously lacking in was in the hardware monitoring department. The S-M

Changes to HOWTO and maybe Samba Guide for Solaris patches
Sun has changed the organization of their web site a lot over the years, and I just noticed that a URL included in the HOWTO is broken now. Perhaps there are others as well. In section 39.6.2 "Winbind on Solaris 9" (p. 503), Solaris 9 users are directed to download a patch from the following URL: http://sunsolve.sun.com/pub-cgi/findPatch.pl?patchId=112960;rev=14 But the Sun

Problem Connecting to Samba-OpenLDAP PDC
I have made some changes to try and get the PDC working and now I am down to one thing where I believe the problem lies. All such documents on the setup show that the addition of users to the PDC should be added to passwd as well as LDAP but for my system that is not the case. I am running the listed software: Fedora Core 4 OpenLDAP 2.2.23 Samba 3.0.14a This is what currently happens when I
