Problem while exiting sftp on SX-6...
Hi,
I am trying to run sftp on SX-6 and it is giving me problem when
I try to exit from sftp. On pressing ^D or entering "bye" on
sftp prompt, sftp hangs. And I have to press ^C to quit.
The versions are: -
1. openssh-3.1p1 on both client and server.
2. Both client (sftp) and server (sshd) are running on SX-6
It appears that the client and server are hanging on "select".

syncing directories with whitespaces
Hi,
[Sorry for this very newbie-question but I really
can't find this in the man-pages, faq or
mailarchives.]
How do I rsync directories that includes whitespaces?
I like to do something like this but I get "No such
file or directory":
$ rsync -e ssh -av --delete myhost.org:"/ftp/my dir/"
"/ftp-mirror/my dir/"
Only solution to this as I can find is to create

User can't use SFTP after chroot
Hi,
I've posted this question on ServerFault, but no answer has been found
(http://serverfault.com/questions/431329/user-cant-sftp-after-chroot).
I have version 1:5.3p1-3ubuntu7
To sum up: I want to chroot the user sam. Things I have done:
- add user 'sam' to group 'users'
- added Subsystem sftp internal-sftp to /etc/ssh/sshd_config (at the bottom)

Connection closed
QUESTION:
Can someone spot the problem please? How do I fix this?

[Flac-users] How do I encode a FLAC with tags?
Ok so I can use any ID3v2 or v1 tagger (say the perl one) for FLAC files
and things will be kosher? I'd LOVE to be able roll my own tagging
scheme like you can in Vorbis and I don't mind doing some code either..I
wasn't aware that FLAC was able to do that..or at least I didn't
userstand how to do that. I guess that is where you register for your
own developer ID eh?

2 Samba problems (oplock & hosts allow)
Hello everybody,
I have 2 questions about Samba operation:
First, hostnames don't work in my "hosts allow"
directive, although smb.conf(5) explicitly says "You
can specify the hosts by name or IP
number". If I specify a client by its name, that
client is not allowed access, even though the server
can do reverse DNS on the client's IP. The message I
get in the

sftp-server "audit" logging
Hello
I would like to ask you for any assistance regarding sftp-server logging.
Till now i used openssh-4.4p1.sftplogging-v1.5.patch + openssh-4.4p1, that was later replaced by filecontroll patch. With openssh-4.4p1.sftplogging-v1.5.patch I could specify SFTP server logging in sshd_config like this:
LogSftp yes
SftpLogFacility LOCAL7
SftpLogLevel INFO
That did sftp logging like

ChrootDirectory - SFTP subsystem works fine but SSH hangs
Hi
I'm using Centos 5 with Openssh-5.0p1 installed (and OpenSSL 0.98b and
Zlib 1.2.3-3). I've managed to get a chroot'd SFTP session using
ChrootDirectory and the new built-in SFTP subsystem. However, when I
use SSH to connect to the same account the session hangs rather than
closing the connection. This happens whether or not I use
/sbin/nologin /bin/false or even /bin/sh

ext3 data
I am using kernel 2.4 and ext3 fs on all partitions.
I recently suffered a power outage while working on
some documents. Some of them had previously been
saved other had not. In either case none of the new
data was restored. I am also finding other strange
disapearrances like bookmarks and panel applets.
My understanding of the ext3 fs is that these
documents should have been restored

I think that uses vorbis tags. FLAC doesn't specify a tagging
system. You have three choices:
1) use id3v1 or v2 (preferably v1 since that has

Can not login with key-exchange is chrooted sftp environment
Hi,
We need to allow log in based on public key generated using ssh-keygen (rsa key) for SFTP with chroot (internal sftp). I am not able to log in with just key exchange. I can login using password.
I am able to log-in with out password for an ssh session unlike sftp session.
Is there a way to login with key-exchange only for internal-sftp with chroot?

Need to sftp with automatic login from 1 aix machine to another, the id on the target is a DCE(DFS) id
Hi,
I had a question and can not find out on the web where anyone might have
done this. I am sftping
between one AIX machine and another using automatic login. I have created
the id_rsa.pub on the
source server and added it to the /.ssh/authorized_keys file on the target
server. The problem we
are having seems to be that because the target id is a DCE(DFS) id and it's
home directory is
