[Need help] sshd cannot work on mips-sony-bsd
Hi, I tried openssh on my SONY NEWS-OS 4.2.1R which is 4.3BSD based system. I modified a little(*) to compile openssh and the compilation was successful. Ssh worked but sshd didn't work. I checked the output of 'sshd -d'. It says error: open /dev/tty failed - could not set controlling tty: No such device or address when connected from remote host (FreeBSD 5-current) with ssh. And

`_POSIX_VDISABLE' undeclared
Dear developpers, I'm using OpenSSH_2.9p1 with prngd on my Sony NEWS-OS 4.2.1R. NEWS-OS 4.x is based on 4.3BSD and lack of many POSIX and ANSI features. OpenSSH 2.9p1 on 4.3BSD based system
Dear developpers, I successfully compiled OpenSSH 2.9p1 which I get via CVS with a little modification. Patch is available at http://www.rc.tutrp.tut.ac.jp/~nakaji/install/NEWS/utils/ref/openssh_cvs-news4.diff.gz But one problem remains. In config.h.in, there is a definition about strftime function /* Define if you have the `strftime' function. */ #undef HAVE_STRFTIME but this

Patch for hanging ssh-add under Solaris CDE
One of my users found that the new ssh-add, from the portable OpenSSH CVS as of October 12, was hanging in his .profile while trying to start up CDE (Common Desktop Environment) on Solaris 2.6. The previous one, which was from OpenSSH 2.9p2, did not hang. It turns out that CDE, at least on Solaris 2.6, 7 and 8, runs the user's .profile with a special startup shell that allocates a pseudo-tty

problems compiling R-0.63.3 and 0.64.0 on alpha
I have problems compiling R (both 0.63.3 and 0.64.0) on a DEC-UX 4.0E alpha (ev6) as illustrated in the enclosed log. I have tried adding the suggestions given in PLATFORMS, without any significant improvement... I have included the config.cache aswell. Any suggestions on how to solve this ? Thanx! [PATCH] Adding BSD compatible install script to 1.2pre14.
Hi, This patch adds a BSD compatible install script (copied from gcc-2.95.2) to 1.2pre14. The script has a X-style license. The script will be used if configure doesn't find a proper install program on the system. Remember to run autoconf and set execute (755) permissions for install-sh when the patch has been applied. -- Niels Kristian Bech Jensen -- nkbj at image.dk --

GLM, how to get an R2 to explain how much of data explained by one variable
Hi Celine, GLM outputs usually give the null deviance and residual deviance in the summary() term - so you can work out % deviance explained for a variable/model from this. Hope this helps. Anyone know a forum for stats advice?
Hi, I know this forum is for R-related issues, but the question I have is a statistical question & I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good statistics forum where I can ask the question? My question is relating to bootstrapping of binary data (ecology data) - I can give more detail, but wasn't sure I could address the question here as it is more statistical based than R based

Blistit - on web in Beta
I would like to thank everyone who has been of great assistance on this project using ROR, AJAX and most importantly Ferret. I would especially like to thank David and Jens for their help. Quite frankly this project would not have got to this stage without your help and we at Blistit appreciate it! I saw your post David with regards to putting food on the table and when we are able to put

Circular variables within a GLM, GLM-GEE or GAM
Hi, I have a variable (current speed direction) which is circular (0=360 degrees), and I'd like my GLM to include the variable as a circular variable. Can I do this? And what is the code? I'm actually doing a GLM-GEE using the 'geepack' package, so want to use it in that, but also interested in whether it can also be used in GLMs and GAMs (I use the 'mgcv' package for

PCA - scores
I am running a PCA, but would like to rotate my data and limit the number of factors that are analyzed. I can do this using the "principal" command from the psych package [principal(my.data, nfactors=3,rotate="varimax")], but the issue is that this does not report scores for the Principal Components the way "princomp" does. My question is: Can you get an

lss16 Images
Good Evening: We've been using SysLinux in our admin class in college as part of a KickStart package designed to overcome multiple-use constraints in our computer lab (just pop the floppy in and suck the OS out of the server...). I have attempted to find out about the LSS16 file format you mentioned as part of your discussion of the DISPLAY format. We'd just love to use a cute
