compaq v2000 working with correct boot options and compaq r4000 still SLOWWW
Hi,
I have a v2000 compaq laptop. The realtek network and USB on this
machine was not working. After adding to grub.conf
"acpi=off apci=off noacpi noapic"
the v2000 realtek started working and the USB worked fine... Fantastic!
So I thought I would try those same options on my r4000 laptop.
they had no effect.... This AMD turion 64 4000+ rating laptop is still
running SLOWWW...

Hello,

Then I had reinstall CentOS 5.5/64 bit + all my setup (2h work),

compaq r4000 /proc/cpuinfo reports 997 and should be 2400
Hi
I have a compaq R4000 with the 2.4GIG AMD 64 bit. 4000+ rated.
proc cpuinfo reports
cpu Mhz as 997.481
Do I have to run the 64 bit version to have things run correctly?
I just have the normal 4.2 loaded at this time.
The laptop seems slow for 4000+ as reflected by the cpu Mhz also.
Any thoughts on running the 32 bit version of 4.2 vs the 64 bit version
of 4.2?

Cross-subvolume link causes kernel BUG
Hi.
While testing subvolumes in btrfs on 2.6.32.9, I hit a kernel BUG:
[ 492.164012] kernel BUG at fs/btrfs/inode.c:4365!
The commands to reproduce this bug are as follows:
# mount -t btrfs /dev/sda5 /scratch
# btrfsctl -S subvol /scratch
# date > /scratch/date
# ln /scratch/date /scratch/subvol/
ln segfaults, and the bug above is found in dmesg. Subsequent accesses
to the subvolume

I followed the instructions here:
http://nixcraft.com/file-servers/14803-how-centos-5-pxe-linux-installation-server.html,
along with a few other sources that were less successful, and I finally
got a pxe boot going. I'm using CentOS 5.3 x86_64 media as the source.
The server boots, but keeps hanging.

Domain Crash and Xend can''t restart
I have a single VM (of 11) that has a recurring problem. This image has
moved from machine to machine, with the problem following it. This image
has been rebuilt from scratch, and the problem recurred. It would appear
that there is something in the behaviour of this VM which causes it to crash
and causes Xend to become unhappy.
The problem presents as:
Domain crashes, becomes zombie.

Problems creating DomUs with large memory system/PAE enabled
All.
I am running Xen on an ES7000 system with 4 procs and 4 GB memory.
I am running Suse Sles-9 (32-bit) on the machine.
I have compiled Xen (the tip on the unstable tree : 6552) with PAE
enabled (XEN_TARGET_X86_PAE=y).
The system boots fine.
I started xend and when I tried to bring up a virtual machine, the
system gave me the following error on the command line.
On the serial port, I saw an

Bug#721946: xen-hypervisor-4.1-amd64: dom0_mem cannot exceed some value
Package: xen-hypervisor-4.1-amd64
Version: 4.1.4-3+deb7u1
Severity: normal
I tried GRUB_CMDLINE_XEN="dom0_mem=8192M": that delivers 6964868K total, then
crashes when used=2837436K free=4127432K.
By crash I mean the gnome screen was blown away, replaced by a black screen
with white log lines. That seems to happen every time dom0 uses a large amount
of memory.
