Good day Mr McCutchen,
I've posted to the rsync list but nobody replied and you seem knowledgeable.
Can you think of any reason why for about 220G of files (about 4.5M files)

Parsing key-value files
Hi,
I am very very new to both Ruby and Ruby on Rails. I have been given a task to
create a web application, which is able to edit individual entries in a
key-value file. In other works, I would need to create an application which can
parse a key-value file. Could someone guide me where I should start in a case
like that? I was able to access and edit database table entries using Rails, but

ssh-agent for an entire unix group
Hello everyone,
I've recently needed to allow the use of the same private key to a
group of users without exposing it.
My first idea was to use ssh-agent. After running it I changed the
directory permissions and file permissions,
but it still didn't work (Long story short - one user actually has
access to the private & public key. He launches
the ssh-agent and imports the key. The

tcltk image reading problem (on a mac?): [tcl] encountered an unsupported criticial chunk type "eXIf"
Wayne,
that one is unrelated, but interesting - you can fix it with
sudo install_name_tool -change \
/usr/local/lib:/opt/X11/lib/libtk8.6.dylib \
/usr/local/lib/libtk8.6.dylib \
/usr/local/bin/wish8.6
There is a bug in tcltk with IDs on the libraries which I have worked-around for R, but not for wish.
Back to the original question - do you have any example of a file that doesn't

plot.hclust: strange behaviour with "manufactured"
This worked for me with your example:
source("dumpdata.R")
storage.mode(x.hc$merge) <- "integer"
plot(x.hc)
(R-1.4.1 compiled from source on WinNT4.)

tcltk image reading problem (on a mac?): [tcl] encountered an unsupported criticial chunk type "eXIf"
Dear Wayne and Peter,
FWIW, I observe exactly the same problem in Catalina. The error and my session info:

Error in structure(.External(.C_dotTclObjv, objv), class = "tclObj") :

using gkermit with ssh (wishlist item)
I've been toying with the idea of using gkermit
over an ssh connection. As it stands, gkermit is essentially
featureless, a GPL kermit implementation that's enough to
get the Free software advocated off their backs. However,
since they want to continue to sell C-Kermit, it has all
the `useful' features, such as scripting, but more importantly
the ability to create a connection over

Urgent Help Please
Hi All,
We have been running Samba (3.0.2), CUPS on SUSE 9 Pro for some time now with no problems. This morning however it all seems to have gone wrong, and the users on site can no longer print. When a user prints a document nothing comes out on the printer and further investigation in the Windows printers folder reveals the printers are sat with 'x' amount of jobs on them and constantly

AW: Unable to open configuration file "/etc/smb.conf" (or whereve r i specify)
Hi,
it looks like you have something really messed up on your system.
The size of the file is 1243 bytes (from strace) but 0 bytes are being read.
If you had no permission to read the strace would have looked like this:
open("/etc/samba/smb.conf", O_RDONLY|O_LARGEFILE) = -1 EACCES (Permission
denied)
A quick look at the source code reveals:
/etc/samba/smb.conf is opened in file_load

Check on my website. :)
The rest of your stuff is easily dealt with by compiling the relevant Fedora rpms.

tcltk image reading problem (on a mac?): [tcl] encountered an unsupported criticial chunk type "eXIf"
I don't know what has changed with Catalina
But I just tried my tk console from the shell command tkcon
And got the following error.
Here is my shell:
