Kerberos support for portable
My organization has a need to use protocol 2 + kerberos Real Soon Now, so I've gone ahead and applied Simon's KRB5 patch to openssh-3.1p1. I don't know how far along Simon is; for all I know he might have the definitive patch out tomorrow. So FWIW, here's what I have now. gunzip <openssh-3.1p1.krb5.patch.gz | patch -p0 autoconf ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/ossh

Thanks for these. Unfortunately, your vrs patches seem to be based on an earlier version of my patch than the one you're bundling. In particular, your patch adds back in the

troubles reading a text file
Dear R experts, For quite some time I have been trying to solve a mistery of reading a seemingly trouble-free text file. The data is temperature reconstruction arranged as a huge grid, preceded by seven "header lines" (which you see better if file is opened in Firefox or Chrome). This is the data (gridded temperature reconstruction)

how to eliminate first row in datafile created in do loop
I am trying to create a routine that would take a time series and generate monthly 25%tile and 75%tile limits based on 12 calendar months. I have succeeded to create a do loop to do this, but can't figure out how to initiate the receiving datafile (in this case "limit.list") without sticking an initial set of zeroes in. I'd like to be able to insert a new column

help: how to plot a circle on the scatter plot
Hello, I have a data set with 15 variables, and use "pairs" to plot the scatterplot of this data set. Then I want to plot some circles on the small pictures with high correlation(e.g. > 0.9). First, I use "cor" to obtain the corresponding correlation matrix (x) for this scatterplot. Second, use "seq(along = x)[x > 0.9]" to find the positions of the small

weep, wail -- Unix client, NT server
I tried searching the list archives, but "NT server" gives me 14530 matches, go figure. :-) And I've read through all the docs that ship with Samba, and the FAQ, and the webpages. No joy. We're using Samba 2.0.5a under Solaris 7. Everything works *wonderfully* when mounting a Unix-side filesystem as an NT/98 share. The username maps save our butts, the security is

Please Help -- Raid shutdown problem
We are running redhat 7.2 with 2.4 kernel. There is a 2 disk RAID 1 array which had a disk fail. The disk that failed had GRUB on it which in turn made the system unbootable. Our recovery method in a time of panic was to reinstall on a new disk saving certain partitions and reconstructing the array afterwards. During the reinstall we made a boot disk. Now we have 2 problems. 1.) The system will

R1.5.1 compilation ans install: 2 previous questions
I'm geting ready to compile and install R-1.5.1 (R-patched_2002-07-15.tar.gz) on Linux (Suse 8.0, 2 AMD proc., ATLAS libs installed). My current version is R.1.4.0 I'd like to get advice on two doubts: 1. Is it better that I remove my current /usr/lib/R directory? 2. Regarding ATLAS, the R-1.5.1 R-admin manual states : "This is currently not supported. The problem is that SIGINT
