make distprep broken?
Hello All, Doing a make distprep doesn't seem to work anymore: $ make -f Makefile.in distprep make: @SH@: Command not found make: *** [catman-do] Error 127 I've seen this on AIX & Redhat (gnu make) and Solaris (native make). I suspect this occurs on most platforms. Is this still the recommended way of autoreconf'ing CVS releases for building? -Daz.

SSH Client Hangs after logging in to SSHD
I'm not a ssh expert and I don't know if the log is good or bad, but I too am running OpenSHH under OpenServer. I find that after I connect, the return key has no effect unless I first type: stty sane <Ctrl>j If you've hit <ENTER> before that you must first press <Ctrl>j a couple of times to clean out the buffer. After I type the above command, everything

PATCH [xenconsoled]: makes pty slave raw early
Hi, on my system (Linux 2.6.18.8 - ia64), if a domain write on the xencons before xenconsole is initialized the domain gets back what it wrote. This patch fixes this issue by making raw the pty slave very early. (I suppose it doesn''t happen with linux as a guest because it takes a little bit of time before writing to xencons). Long awaited round 1 of NeXT patches.
This is about 90% of the core work. I omited a few files from the patch set since they are basicly small blocks of #ifndef HAVE_NEXT/#endif to get it to compile. Daimen, feel free to let me know what you applied and what your rejecting and why.. so I can work on cleaning things up. Andre, Only thing of note you may want to look into is NeXT does not use "ut_user" in it's lastlog.

COM32 module: Read-Only shell
Well, here's the read-only shell (rosh) that I've been working on. It's functional but still quite rough. My primary intention of posting it at this time is such that people have an easy way to demonstrate to themselves that the library calls I made work. This should apply as a patch to the head of the "dir" branch and the patch for c_cflag/c_lflag. The patch is only

[2.2.0p1] patch: generic detection of correct getpgrp() invocation
Hi. Several OSes have a getpgrp() function that takes an argument, unlike what POSIX mandates. NeXT was covered, but SunOS wasn't. This provides a generic solution through autoconf. Disconnecting: protocol error: rcvd type 98
When I SSH using protocol 1 from a Debian box running OpenSSH 2.9p2-4 to a sparc.sunos5 box running vanilla OpenSSH 2.9.1, after a little while (of inactivity?) I get the following message on the client terminal: Disconnecting: protocol error: rcvd type 98 Looking further, this message is actually caused by the SSH daemon. However, I'm at a loss to determine why sshd is doing this. I attach

X11 forwarding problem -- openssh-3.5p1 -- redhat 8.0 -- linux 2.4.18
All, I'm working on upgrading a machine from RH 6.2 to RH 8.0. I've encountered one major (for me) snag in that I cannot get X11 forwarding to work anymore. I've been google-ing the error messages all morning, with no luck. Here is debugging output from the server (client debugging output sent upon request... I don't feel it is relevant). What I feel is interesting is at the

sshd terminates a session after a successful login
I've recently upgraded our environment to OpenSSH-3.7.1p1 on Solaris, AIX and IRIX. I have had no luck when it comes to getting the IRIX environment to work. With sshd running on an IRIX server, I connect with any other version/OS ssh, watch the connection establish, get right up to the point where the shell should spawn and sshd terminates. I have been unable to find any information online

Multiple (multiplexed) simultaneous ssh connections - Cygwin bug?
Hello, ? I need to make many (>50) ssh connections from linux to cygwin at the same time. Using Windows 2000 Server (OpenSSH_4.3p2, OpenSSL 0.9.8b and updated cygwin) and Linux RHEL4 (OpenSSH_3.9p1, OpenSSL 0.9.7a). ? It's been difficult to optimize many simultaneous connections. OpenSSH on OpenStep 4.2 -- Mostly working!!! =)
I have an initial port of the SSH client. Only one known issue with it. sigaddset(), sigempty(), and sigprocmask() don't exist on NeXT without using libposix which I'm now avoiding (thanks, Garance A Drosehn) like the plague because it conflicts too much. Only thing this affects is the readpass.c file at this point. Which means if you ctrl-C out of the password prompt you mess up your
