[PATCH]: sftp: Avoid paths beginning with "//"
Hi, the following patch has been suggested by Mark Bradshaw <bradshaw at staff.crosswalk.com>. The simple concatenation of filenames in sftp client and server results in creating filenames beginning with double slashes when the cwd is the root directory: cwd: "/bar/baz" file: "foo" cwd + "/" + file = "/bar/baz/foo" cwd: "/" file:

[PATCH]: scp: Avoid paths beginning with "//"
Scp has some path issues when transferring to or from the root file system of a windows machine (cygwin). It creates a path that begins with //, which indicates a UNC path on Windows. I sent in patches for similar issues last year. The fix is a one line change to determine if the path is "/", and not double up on the slashes. I've attached diffs to latest cvs. -Mark

IdentityFile patch
By the way, I noticed in the previous IdentityFile patch I forgot to expand tilde. I fixed this by making the change in ssh.c instead of readconf.c, which is probably where it belongs, as far as the existing code is concerned: diff -ur openssh-3.0.2p1/auth.c openssh-3.0.2p1I/auth.c --- openssh-3.0.2p1/auth.c Sun Nov 11 17:06:07 2001 +++ openssh-3.0.2p1I/auth.c Sun Jan 27 12:05:14 2002 @@ -44,7

[PATCH] Add user-dependent IdentityFile to OpenSSH-3.0.2p1
Here is a patch to allow private key files to be placed system wide (for all users) in a secure (non-NFS) mounted location on systems where home directories are NFS mounted. This is especially important for users who use blank passphrases rather than ssh-agent (a good example of where this is necessary is for tunnelling lpd through ssh on systems that run lpd as user lp). IdentityFile now accepts

[Patch] User-dependent IdentityFile
Here is the user-dependent IdentityFile patch for openssh3.5 (BSD version), which allows private key files to be placed system wide (for all users) in a secure (non-NFS) mounted location. This addresses an important security hole on systems where home directories are NFS mounted, particularly if there are users who use blank passphrases (or when lpd is tunneled through ssh on systems running lpd

adding perspectives to existing persp plots
I've created a perspective plot using 'persp' in the graphics package. I'd like to add a second plane of z values to the existing plot, but I cannot seem to do this using 'persp'. Is there an analogue to 'lines' or 'points' for perspectives? Corey. corey.bradshaw at cdu.edu.au

problems with nonlinear fits using nls
Hello colleagues, I am attempting to determine the nonlinear least-squares estimates of the nonlinear model parameters using nls. I have come across a common problem that R users have reported when I attempt to fit a particular 3-parameter nonlinear function to my dataset: Error in nls(r ~ tlm(a, N.fix, k, theta), data = tlm.data, start = list(a = a.st, : step factor 0.000488281

[PATCH] Reduce the scope of Ne10 includes
Hi, Attached patch modifies some of the Ne10 includes in celt/arm. The original includes worked, but ended up pulling in extra Ne10 headers that were unnecessary. This allows libopus to be built with just the Ne10 DSP module installed on the user's machine. Please review. Thanks, --Michael -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Compile bugs in openssh-1.2pre15 on Solaris (2.6)
Hi, I didn't know if this was the correct spot to send openSSH bugs/problems so I thought I'd try... Anyway, I have encountered the following compile time problems for openssh-1.2pre15 / Solaris 2.6 / gcc 2.8.1 - * daemon code (bsd-daemon.[ch]) exists but is not linked in. Also, header is not included. Same might apply to bsd-login. * rsa.h needs __P() define to work

$HOME instead of pw->pw_dir question.
Hello. I have one, small question. There are any security reasons to not use a getenv("HOME") instead of pw->pw_dir in ssh.c and tildexpand.c to find user home directory? -- Grzegorz Kryza mailto: kryza at nomachine.com http://grzegorz.kryza.net

[PATCH] Add missing HAVE_CONFIG_H guards
Hi Michael, I guess the main issue here is that config.h is never actually supposed to be included from a header file in the first place. So it might be best to fix that directly rather than adding ifdefs. modeling binary response variables
R-devotees, I have a question about modeling in the case where the response variable is binary. I have a case where I have a response variable that is the probability of success, and four descriptor variables, The response has a sigmoid response with one of the variables. I would like to test for the effect of the various descriptor variables on the percentage success of the binary trait. I have

[PATCH]: Cygwin: Changes to cygwin contrib area
Hi, the following patch changes two files in the contrib/cygwin subdir: It changes the Cygwin specific README file which adds some hints related to the new feature to switch user context without password (which means using public key and/or rhosts authentication). Some old stuff is erased. The changes to ssh-host-config are intended to allow an easier startup for users which are new to Cygwin

Sneek peak at what was commited.
For those following the portable CVS tree.. I'd suggest holding off for a day or so unless you really want to get dirty. I just commited 32 patches from the OpenBSD tree, but have not worked out all the issues (due to Linux brain damage <sigh..Faster OpenBSD gets SMP..the happer I'll be>). The two things that need to be finished integrated in the configure.in is KRB5 and
