Kernel compilation - 2.6, x86_64, CentOS4.1
Hi
I am having trouble compiling some 2.6 kernels on a x86_64 box under
CentOS4.1. I cannot use xconfig at all and menuconfig on my system is
unreadable. It appears to be something to do with the Qt library but I
have all the necessary bits installed:
qt-devel-3.3.3-9.3
qt-3.3.3-9.3
but note that the second of these only is installed both for x86 and
x86_64 - the first is installed for x86_64

gnomeGUI installation
Hello,
I have successfully downloaded the sources and built R as a shared
library on a Red Hat Enterprise Level 3 box. I am now trying to build the
GNOME GUI, but configure is barfing on glade. According to the system
logs, the RPM for libglade2-devel-2.0.1-3.x86_64 is installed, but in
/usr/bin, where gnomeGUI configure is looking, what's there is
libglade-convert. How do I fix this?

corrupt rpm problem
Here is the output from yum -y upgrade without the error parts...
Its odd because it updated all of these first time round. I have dared
reboot the box yet, for fear it won't come back up...

kernel recompile help
Everytime I try to recompile a kernel, "make modules" always dies with
the error:
mv: cannot stat `include/asm-i386/asm_offsets.h.tmp': No such file or
directory
make: *** [include/asm-i386/asm_offsets.h] Error 1
I installed the src RPM and kernel-devel ... any ideas as to what I
could be doing wrong?
Thanks!!

Rgnome depends on obsolete components libglade/libxml (PR#8247)
Full_Name: Hin-Tak Leung
Version: R 2.2.0
OS: x86 linux
Submission from: (NULL) (131.111.126.242)
Rgnome depends libglade 0.x and libxml 1.x .
They are no longer shipped with Redhat EL4.
(I know they are still in fedora core 4).
Just a wish-list.

PHP-gtk anyone?
Hi,
I seem to be going round in circles trying to install php-gtk for Agata on a
CentOS 4.4 installation - the configure keeps falling out with:
checking for libglade-config... no
checking for libglade... no
configure: error: Unable to locate libglade
I have installed libglade 1.99 and 2.01 directly from rpm but something's
not meeting up.
Is there a nice, yum-type install for libglade

Problem installing RGTK2 on ubuntu 7.04
Hello, all
I am trying to install RGTK2 on my Ubuntu 7.04 system. The installation
fails with a message that RGtk2 requires GTK 2.8. As far as I can tell I
have GTK+ 2.10.11 installed. Can anyone suggest a way to proceed?
Thanks very much.

gdevilspie on mate
I just read about gdevilspie on this list the other day and downloaded it for my mate desktop. Although it installed, it complains that python-wnck is not installed.
Does anyone know if it is supposed to work on mate? I would have expected it to install python-wnck as a requirement if not already installed?

Playwith-problem with loading
Helllo,
I am having trouble with running the library Playwith in the R-2.12.0. running under 32bit Windows XP. After calling the library the error message "The procedure entry point gdk_cairo_reset_clip could not be located in the dynamic library libgdk-win32-2.0-0.dll." occurs and the R asks for instaling the GTK+ package. However the instalation of GTK+ thorugh the R fails. I have

Hello,
I'm looking forward to mining some new data six

May I please have the benefit of this list's

On Debian Linux's unstable release, I've done

ggobi install
hi - not sure if this is the right spot to ask for help on this,
probably a basic question...
I am trying to install ggobi on R running on Ubuntu Hardy - I am new to
both Linux & R so the answer may be obvious & I'm just missing it. I
have installed GGobi via synaptic, but trying to install rggobi I get
the following error - there's some path problem but I don't fully
