PATCH: pidfile/sigterm race
If one is using the pidfile as an indicator of sshd's status,
it is possible to kill sshd before the sigterm handler gets
installed, since the pidfile is written out before the signal
handlers are setup.
The solution is to simply write the pidfile after the signal
handlers are setup. Here's the patch.

[PATCH]: auth.c (pwcopy): Copy pw_gecos field when build for Cygwin
Hi,
the attached patch is very important for Cygwin. I don't know
how I could have missed that for months now :-( I hope this
can be included in 2.5.1p2.
The pw_gecos field in Cygwin's /etc/passwd contains Windows
specific authentication informations which let NT domain
users logon to a machine without the need to inform the
logon server (sshd in our case) about the name of the NT

OpenSSH changes for BSD/OS
The following are patches against openssh 2.1.1p4 to add
support for the BSD_AUTH authentication mechanisms. It allows the
use of non-challenge/response style mechanisms (which styles are
allowed my be limited by appropriate auth-ssh entries in login.conf).
The patches also add support for calling setusercontext for the
appropriate class when called with a command (so that the PATH, limits,

Using the latest cvs sources, the compilation of ssh.c fails.
The 'struct rlimit rlim;' line is being expanded by cpp into
'struct rlimit64 rlim;' and there is no struct rlimit64 defined.
In order to get the struct rlimit64 to be included when the

it needs the '#if

Handling of password & account expirations
Hello,
There has been an annoyance with OpenSSH that has been bugging me
lately. It pays no attention to pw_change and pw_expire fields from the
passwd file for users by default. Thus even if the admin has set a
user's account to expire 5 days ago they can still login. So one might
say, just add 'UseLogin yes' and all of your problems will be solved.
This of course is not a good

privsep
i think our strategy for privsep is to just keep portable sync'd closely
with openbsd's tree, even though things will be broken wrt privsep for
many platforms. then we just get primary one's working and work out
issues as we go along. i'll start to work on sun and hp-ux again
tomorrow.

[PATCH] Add expired password handling for AIX.
Hi All.
Attached is a patch which adds AIX native password expiry support to
sshd. It will only apply to -current and is a subset of the patch I have
been working on in the last few months (see bug #14 [1]). It contains
code by Pablo Sor, Mark Pitt and Zdenek Tlusty and fixes for bugs reported
by many others (see [2] for a full list).
It adds a do_tty_change_password function that execs

[PATCH] Password expiry merge (AIX parts)
Hi All.
Attached is a patch introduces password expiry handling for AIX (other
platforms to follow). It is more or less the same as the previous patch
but has been updated to reflect recent changes to auth-passwd.c
I'm wondering if the AIX parts of auth.c should be moved to port-aix.c
and if the generic password change functions (currently at the end of
auth-passwd.c) belong in a separate

[PATCH #9] Password expiration via /bin/passwd.
This is an attempt to simplify the AIX expiry-via-passwd stuff and make
it more generic. (There's actually a net reduction in #ifdefs).
Patch against CVS:
1) configure finds passwd.
2) sshd uses passwd during session if required.
3) sshd uses passwd for PAM change if privsep disabled.
4) sshd uses Buffers for expire and post-login messages (no longer AIX
specific).
5) password_change_required

I am having trouble figuring out how to build openssh-5.8p1 for QNX 6.5. I am trying to build on linux, cross-compiling for armv7.
If I configure like this:
configure CC=ntoarmv7-gcc --host=i686-pc-linux-gnu --target=arm-unknown-nto-qnx6.5.0
then I get these errors:

[PATCH] getpwnam() implementation in tftpd.c
Hi,
This patch implements a minimal getpwnam() function in tftpd.c.
The reason for the patch is that I needed tftpd to work in my embedded
system, which are without libnss*. The patch has been tested, and works
for me. Please consider it.
Best regards,

[patch/cygwin]: Fix documentation
Hi,
could somebody with checkin rights please apply the below patch?
It modernizes and improves readability of the Cygwin README file
(which hasn't been updated for ages), drops unsupported OSes from
the ssh-host-config help text, and drops an unneeded option from
ssh-user-config.
Thanks in advance,
Corinna
