Help with a more flexible funtion for multiple comparision of means
Dear R-list,
Could anybody tell me (or give me a tip) of how to implement the Duncan
distribution in R?
I've been trying to make a new and more flexible function for multiple
comparison of means: Tukey, SNK and Duncan, from 'aov' objects, like TukeyHSD
function.
For while, it is running nice (Tukey and SNK), for simple design (completely

SAMBA digest 1909
Hi all,
That?s my first message here in ths discussion group.
Im using samba with no really problems, cause Im not using passwords.
But now, I want to enable password authentication.
I have a Sparc 20 with Solaris 2.6, and Im using Samba 1.9.17pl
The Solaris 2.6 have passwd / shadow password type.
Only the user httpd will be able to login in Samba, and will enter in

Efectos aleatorios, interaccions y SNK, LSD o Tukey
Queridos R-users:

openssh (OpenBSD) , bsdauth and tis authsrv
nuqneH,
I've tried using TIS authsrv authentication via bsd auth and found
it quite limited. The most important restriction it does not log
ip and fqdn of the remote peer, nor the application name, to
the authentication server. It does not matter much for TIS authsrv,
but since other applications do provide such information, our
authsrv version uses it for extra authentication restrictions.

means comparison in R (post-hoc test)

Hi.
I have been using SAS for some time, and now I have discovered R. I am
very happy with it, but I have not found out how to perform some of the
multiple comparisons I was used to do in SAS.
With the SAS/STAT, I generally used the MEANS (for comparison of
arithmetic means) and the LSMEANS (for adjusted means) statements of the
GLM procedure (I

openssh 2.9p1 on Solaris 2.6 with AFS
Jan,
maybe I should check the /afs information that you pointed me at
in a subsequent email first, but I wanted to update you on what
happened following this path:
I did get some mileage out of both of your suggestions below,
but still did not make it through (now working with openssh-2.9p2):
gcc -o ssh ssh.o sshconnect.o sshconnect1.o sshconnect2.o sshtty.o
readconf.o clientloop.o -L.

Potentially serious (but rare) issue with buffer.c and cipher.c
While rototilling packet.c, I did some looking at cipher_encrypt in
cipher.c. It ends up that for SSH_CIPHER_NONE in cipher_encrypt, it
uses memcpy. However, it also appears that dest and src can be equal
in cipher_encrypt.
On most sane libc implementations, memcpy == memmove. However, ANSI C
makes no such guarantee, and some implementations out there are bound
to try to optimize memcpy

Before implementing SNK and Duncan's, you may want to be aware of some
criticisms of these methods:
>From Hsu (1996),
"Newman-Keuls multiple range test is not a confident inequalities method and
cannot be recommended."
"Duncan's multiple range test is not a confident inequalities method and
cannot be recommended either. In the words of Tukey (1991),

Building openssh-3.5p1 with new DES functions
Hi,
I've seen that openssh will have different function names for des, I
think thats great. As kerberos4 nor kerbero5 from KTH in Sweden support
those new calls yet, I thought it would be best for me to switch back to
the old behaviour, i.e. have kerberized libkrb and other libs with
disabled support for openssl (which means libdes is compiled).
Then, compile openssh-3.5p1 with kerberos4

Building openssh-3.5p1 with new DES functions
Hi,
I've installed openssl-0.9.7 and now am testing current openssh-cvs.
The kerberosIV installation has it's own libdes.a. I'm quite please
openssh built successfully, congratulations! Unfortunately, kerberos
autentication is not tried at all. As far as I remeber, Ja Iven who wrote
some patch, which as he said got into 3.5p1 also removed the ifdef's that

New package GAD (General ANOVA Design)
Hi, everyone.
GAD package analyses complex ANOVA models with any combination of
orthogonal/nested and fixed/random factors, as described by Underwood
(1997). There are two restrictions: (i) data must be balanced; (ii)
fixed nested factors are not allowed. Homogeneity of variances is
checked using Cochran's C test and "a posteriori" comparisons of means
are done using

tables with Unicode box drawing characters?
Hello,
I read David Wheeler's table proposal[1] for Markdown and very much
agree with his conclusion and PostgreSQL-inspired proposed format. I
also read the mailing list archives for 2009 but did not find any
clear concesus on whether DW's format was officially accepted (I hope
it is soon!).
However, I want to ask: has anyone considered taking these simple
ASCII table drawings to the

Efectos aleatorios, interaccions y SNK, LSD o Tukey a claración de las datos
Hola de nuevo R-Users,
me he dejado cosas para aclara.
misma localidades

[PATCH nbdkit 9/9] tests/old-plugins: Add plugin from nbdkit 1.18.2.
This is significant because it's a plugin which was from the last

OpenSSH and OpenSSL snapshots
Hello,
In order to experiment with OpenCA, I have built an RPM for redhat 7.2
of a recent OpenSSL snapshot (the binary rpm on the OpenCA was built
with the different target directories and libraries. Unfortunately these
recent OpenSSL snapshots seems to break all OpenSSH tarballs and RPMs
that I have been able to find. None of them seem to compile
successfully, even the snapshots at

keyboard-interactive
Is there a way for a PAM module to force a client (and the server) to
use kbd-interactive? As far as I can tell, when in the INITIAL_LOGIN
phase, all communication with the client returns a PAM_CONV_ERR. I am
trying to write a PAM module that will prompt a user for a second
username and a second password in order for the module to succeed so
that proper authentication relies on the ability

[PATCH] Add winbind-backed NTLMSSP support to Cyrus-SASL
Windows authentication extends far beyond the CIFS protocol the Samba
implements, but it only very recently that work has been done to catch
up to Microsoft's extensions in this area. This has caused many
administrators pain and toil that their MS counterparts simply don't
have. For them, authentication 'just works', with single-sign-on and
the lot.
I have worked, for over a
