libvorbis configure script fails on Irix
Hello, I'm trying to compile libogg, libvorbis, libao, and vorbis-tools on an SGI Octane running Irix6.5.22. libogg configures and compiles without a problem. I installed it in usr/local/lib. When I moved on to libvorbis trouble began. The configure script made the following complaint: checking for Ogg... 12269:./conftest: rld: Error: unresolvable symbol in ./conftest:

Compiling issues on IRIX (run!)
Well, I can't get icecast to compile on IRIX, not a huge surprise to me, but i'm working on it: First problems, the configure script doesn't work well with IRIX in general, so a bit of manual changes to it were required to force some library locations and compiler flags for the ogg and vorbis tests. (Mainly, $PREFIX/lib is not a safe assumption, as there are $PREFIX/lib,

Comments on R-1.2.1 builds (PR#851)
The R-1.2.1 builds have gone fairly smoothly on most of my UNIX architectures, but there were many warnings reported by the picky SGI compiler that could be eliminated in future releases. Generally, I have found the SGI compilers very helpful in ferreting out portability problems, unused and/or obsolete variables, unexpected datatype coercions, etc., and they compile faster than any other

How do I do core dumps and backtraces?
I've been testing out Red Orchestra on Wine, and when I run it, it tells me that wineserver crashed and to run ulimit -c unlimited and try again. So I did that, and tried, that time it didn't tell me wineserver crashed, but it did. I run wine again, and it says wineserver crashed last time, and to run this command: gdb /usr/bin/../lib32/../bin/wineserver

need help building R on SGI
I'm trying to build R-1.5.0 on an SGI. I downloaded the tar file just a couple of hours ago. These are the various variables I set before configuring, and the arguments to configure I'm using: export R_PAPERSIZE=letter CPPFLAGS=-I/usr/dfs/src/readline export LDFLAGS='-L/usr/common/lib -L/usr/lib32 -L/usr/dfs/src/readline' export CONFIG_SHELL=/v/bin/sh SHELL=/v/bin/sh ./configure

Dynamic selection of assembly mnemonic strings
Thanks for the quick answer Bruce. So far as I can tell (from a quick read), this is really for integrated assemblers/disassemblers - but we use an external assembler. When invoking clang we would provide ‘-mcpu=chip_v1’ or ‘-mcpu=chip_v2’, and the mnemonic ‘LD32’ is only valid when compiling for ‘chip_v1’, while ‘LD.32’ is only valid when compiling for ‘chip_v2’. But I will study the

Dynamic selection of assembly mnemonic strings
Hi LLVM Dev, I have an old problem that I've wanted to clean-up for some time. Our chip has gone through a number of iterations in the past few years, but with each revision there have been changes to some of the mnemonics for instructions. These are mostly very simple, for example we had a 32-bit load from memory instruction named 'LD32' in one version of the chip, but for a

2.9.9p2 on SGI Irix
Just a FYI: OpenSSH-2.9.9p2 compiles just fine on Irix 6.5.13, using the MIPSPro-7.3 compiler (gcc-3.0 creates a binary that gives funny log messages), linking against the freeware OpenSSL package from freeware.sgi.com No PAM, but anyway... This is how i did it: bash-2.04# export CC=cc bash-2.04# ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/openssh \ --with-ldflags=-L/usr/freeware/lib32 \

OpenSSH portability & buildsystem fixes
Hi, I recently ported OpenSSH to my hobbyist operating system. The portable release is very straightforward to work with, but it had a few minor issues where it assumes the existence of things that might not be on a POSIX 2008 system. This are the list of issues I encountered that I believe makes sense to upstream. * <sys/param.h> is included in many files and isn't a standard

Hi! Wine is completely not working for me since the release of the 1.2-versions. Any try to start an app with wine or running one o wine's apps itself (winecfg etc) results in a freeze of wine.
