Question about ssh-add...
Evenin', I would like to know, why "OpenSSH ssh-add" doesn't support the -p (pipe) option of "Ssh-1.2.X shh-add"? I used it several time within scripts, like ./whisperpassphrase | ssh-add -p Well, I know this is some kind of security by obscurity, but this has been proven to be handy. snapshot sftpserver
I'm having some problems with the sftpserver from yesterdays snapshot. It's working fine on the machine I built it on, but the (supposedly) identical machines I rdisted it to fails (SGI O2, Irix 6.5.11m). The client says: % sftp buskfuru Connecting to buskfuru... Enter passphrase for key '/usr/people/jfm/.ssh/id_dsa': janfrode at buskfuru's password: Received message too

INBOX stored in AFS
Hello, currently we are storing the incoming mail in the user's home directory, which is within a distributed filesystem called AFS (OpenAFS). Accessing the "mbox" file directly (using the distributed filesystem) works fine with mutt, thunderbird, ... To access the INBOX from a machine, which does not have access to this distributed filesystem, we are using IMAP (UW-imap). Now I

Defining the "random" term in function "negbin" of AOD package
I have tried glm.nb in the MASS package, but many models (I have 250 models with different combinations of predictors for fish counts data) either fail to converge or even diverge. I'm attempting to use the negbin function in the AOD package, but am unsure what to use for the "random" term, which is supposed to provide a right hand formula for the overdispersion parameter.

Replication .dovecot-sync.lock
Hello all, I have set up two servers with dovecot and replication. The mail location is mail_location = sdbox:/var/spool/mail/%u Everything works fine when I override the homedirectories userdb { driver = passwd override_fields = home=/var/spool/mail/%u } But, when I do not override the homedirectories, replication does not work, and the following error is logged: Oct 24 14:40:45

flagging glm models with warnings
I'm attempting to run 250 permutations of a negative binomial GLM model for data on fish counts. Many of the models are fit appropriately, but some issue warnings such as "convergence not reached" or "step size truncated due to divergence." I've attempted using glm.nb from the MASS package and the negbin function from the AOD package, but both still cause some models to

xen device mapping/translation
Hello, list. Yesterday I was pleased to see that Centos has released official images at the aws marketplace. Nice job. Today I started playing with the Centos 6.3 image ( https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/pp/B00A6L6F9I, on which I plan to deploy a gluster cluster in production soon) and noticed a weird thing. EBS Volumes attached to sd<X> are translated to xvd<Y> at the OS level.

Voicemail after hangup
Hi people, just a question: Is it possible to execute Voicemail command in the h extension? (after hangup the channel). Because if I put it before it, it works right, but if I put it there, it doesn't... The log is: -- Executing [h at cont-mine:1] NoOp("SIP/3005-096736a8", "End of cont-mine") in new stack -- Executing [h at cont-mine:2]

Compiling speex for DSP TI C6713
Dear all, I have been using Speex during last year over PC with very good results. Now I'm trying to move my code to the DSP TI C6713. It's the first time I work with a DSP and with Code Composer. I use speex quite well but I'm not very good at compiling for different platforms. After reading all manuals I tried to compile the speex library with Code Composer and the speex options for

Non-Executable Stack Patch
I was wondering if there's any non-executable stack patch for FreeBSD's kernel. I searched in google but all I got was some questions in freebsd-security back from 2001 and an answer saying someone heard about a project like this, but no information at all. Is there any patch like PaX or Openwall available for FreeBSD? I dont want to discuss if its useless or not since there're a

How to make try to catch warnings in logistic glm
Dear list, >From an earlier post I got the impression that one could promote warnings from a glm to errors (presumably by putting options(warn=1)?), then try() would flag them as errors. I?ve spent half the day trying to do this, but no luck. Do you have an explicit solution? My problems is that I am trying to figure out during what conditions one may find 5 significant parameters in a

[Bug 2628] hangs indefinitely (while listing files)
https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2628 ------- Additional Comments From wayned@samba.org 2005-04-20 01:11 ------- You didn't mention the client command you're running. As for the log-data output by a --daemon, did you look in the appropriate syslog file? or check the rsyncd.conf file to see if it is logging to a file? You can also use the "max verbosity" setting

passphrase for non existent key?
Hi there. I'm being asked for a passphrase for a key file that does not exist. See debug output below. Both client and server default to SSH2. Creating a DSA key without a password and copying the public portion to the server's authorized_keys2 allowed me to login w/o a password. I downloaded and installed the latest version of SSH from OpenBSD CVS, and now its asking me for the
