Could this autogen.sh script be added?
Could someone add this autogen.sh script to the
toplevel of openssh_cvs?
Many projects include an autogen.sh script
so that folks need not remember what auto
commands need to get run and in what order.

Is fixpaths the only perl dependency?
Hello.
I just tried to download and build the 2.3.0.p1
(portable) release with Cygwin on an NT box.
It fails to build because of the use of a perl
script. Cygwin does not have Perl installed
by default and to be honest it seems like
a bit of a stretch to require perl to be
able to build shh, that just makes it harder
to build.
I poked around and it seems like these files
depend on perl:

[LLVMdev] Patch for transform dependencies
Hi,
A number of transforms are actually independent, so here's a partial fix. I
updated the
dependencies in a cluster of transforms: LowerSwitch, Mem2Reg, LowerSelect,
LowerAllocations, UnifyFunctionExitNodes.
The patch has been tested, but not extensively. PassManager doesn't
complain, and
the result of a test pass that requires all these (except for
LowerAllocations) together
works

write problem from mac osx 10.8.5 clients to samba 4

I have setup a samba 4 DC with mixed client environment.
My problem is that the mac osx client are unable to write to a samba 4 share.
I tested mac osx clients on a normal windows 7 share and it works fine
I tested mac osx clients on a samba 3.5 .. share and everything works fine.
As i am in a professional environment and all the windows clients are already binded to the samba 4 domain i

[PATCH] No extern declarations of optarg & co if getopt.h is available
Hi,
I have a problem with the extern declarations of optarg, optind, etc.
We're currently moving getopt from being a statically linked function
to a dynamically linked function as part of the Cygwin DLL. On Windows,
this requires to generate special symbols (__imp__optarg, etc.), which
is done by marking the exported variables in the corresponding header.

OpenSSH 2.3.0p1: HP-UX 11.00 64-bit
I have encountered a problem with using OpenSSH 2.3.0p1 on 64-bit HP-UX
11.00 systems. This bug does not exhibit itself on any 32-bit HP-UX
11.00 or HP-UX 10.20 systems that I have built 2.3.0p1 on. OpenSSH
2.3.0p1 was built with HPs ANSI C compiler with OpenSSL 0.9.6 and zlib
1.1.3.
The problem is with the call to vhangup(2) in sshd when interactive
sessions are started. The problem does not

4.6p1 chan_read_failed error
The 4.6p1 sshd is logging this error during remote commands or file
transfers:
error: channel 0: chan_read_failed for istate 3
Platform is Solaris 8, 4.6p1 + OpenSSL 0.9.8d.
The commands and transfers work correctly, so the error message appears
to be spurious. The error message does not appear when processing logins.
Otherwise 4.6p1 is running without any apparent problems. This error

ProxyCommand broken in SNAP-20010814
For some odd reason, one line was removed from the handling of
ProxyCommand in readconf.c. As a result, ssh crashes on strlen(string)
when it parses this option.

[PATCH]: Broken scp -p option
Hi,
I have found an serious problem when using 'scp -rp'. The usage of
the static buffer "namebuf" together with calling `sink()' recursively
results in overwriting the buffer np points to. This in turn results
in a broken call to `ulimits()' and `chmod'.

I have question about buffer_put_bignum2_from_string
function used in kexc25519.c in (OpenSSH >= 6.5)
Is it 1:1 replacement for formating bignums from OpenSSL?
If yes, then buffer_put_bignum2_from_string
has different results for numbers starting with zeros.

Under certain conditions the sshd client process segfaults while doing

[PATCH] Add expired password handling for AIX.
Hi All.
Attached is a patch which adds AIX native password expiry support to
sshd. It will only apply to -current and is a subset of the patch I have
been working on in the last few months (see bug #14 [1]). It contains
code by Pablo Sor, Mark Pitt and Zdenek Tlusty and fixes for bugs reported

[PATCH] PreferAskpass in ssh_config
Moin,
attached is a patch, which adds a new configuration option
"PreferAskpass" to the ssh config.
ssh{,-add,-keygen,-agent} will use ssh-askpass to prompt for passwords, if
this option is set to "yes", and if ssh-askpass is available.
Default for "PreferAskpass" is "no".
Pacth is against current CVS.
