More NetBSD patches
Here's a unified diff, proposed by Christos Zoulas (with a little reworking to get the configure.in part a bit cleaner). The main target of the patches are NetBSD compatability, although there are some changes making if (pointer X) into if (X != NULL) as well. Christos also proposed a change to Makefile.in, but I'll send that as a seperate mail. Thanks, David Index: configure.in

Patches for failing build & bus error on SPARC/Linux
All - For those installs on crusty old hardware and OS releases, here are patches to fix two OpenSSH problems on sparc redhat 4.2 systems. 1. `Old PAM' #defines different - build fails with undefined symbols when PAM used. 2. Running ssh on sparc hardware results in bus error on some connection negotiations. Unaligned data on call to inet_ntoa() results in bus error.

[PATCH] Use canonical hostname for DNS SSHFP lookup
In the current implementation, ssh always uses the hostname supplied by the user directly for the SSHFP DNS record lookup. This causes problems when using the domain search path, e.g. I have "search example.com" in my resolv.conf and then do a "ssh host", I will connect to host.example.com, but ssh will query the DNS for an SSHFP record of "host.", not

[patch] Correct configure test for sin_len to compile on Tru64 Unix
The last versions of rsync fail to compile on Tru64 Unix (alpha), because of a typo in configure.in. The problem is that the code in configure check for sockaddr.sa_len, while the code uses sockaddr.sin_len. This patch fixes the problem. Please include it in the next version of rsync. diff -ur src-2.6.0/configure.in src-2.6.0-local/configure.in --- src-2.6.0-local/configure.in

Dovecot 2.3.9 fails on FreeBSD
Hi I've just tried to build the latest Dovecot 2.3.9 on FreeBSD 11.3. getnameinfo() call and fake-rfc2553.c
Hello All, Im using OpenSSH 4.2p1. The getnameinfo() call in my system libc is broken and as a result SSH fails saying getnameinfo failed:host nor service provided. Im thinking of using getnameinfo() call available from openbsd-compat directory to get rid of this problem. As this is a production system, we can't make changes without convincing my syadmin and managers. I understand that

IceCast 1.3.11: Segmentation Violation in Linux
Hello all, When I try to run IceCast 1.3.11, it starts up okay, but crashes with Segmentation Violation as soon as a client tries to connect to it. I am suspecting that there is a race condition, because when I try to strace icecast, it works fine. I am a novice level coder, so I dont know how else I can help you. :-) This is a problem I had with 1.3.10, but I downloaded 1.3.11 to see if you

Pending OpenSSH release, call for testing.
Darren, We have systems which are multihomed for virtualisation, but run only one sshd. You can connect to any IP-address and should be authenticated with gssapi/kerberos. So the client will ask for a principal host/virt-ip-X and the server has to have an entry for this in the keytab and has to select the right key by determining the hostname from the connection IP-address. There is no other way

[PATCH] Updated patch to rsync for Stratus VOS
This is an updated version of my patches to get rsync to build and run its tests on the Stratus VOS operating system. I have updated this patch to apply cleanly to the current copy of HEAD. I also ran the test suite and discovered that I needed to tweak a few spots in the Makefile to append the executable suffix (VOS is one of the few systems that has a required executable suffix). There are a

CIFS: Deprecating NFS mounting syntax in mount.cifs
The following patch adds a warning when using NFS mounting syntax (server:/share), instead of the usual UNC syntax (//server/share || \\server\share), that support for NFS style mounts will be removed in version 6.0 of the mount.cifs utility. The reasoning for this is simple. Support for NFS syntax is undocumented and increases maintenance overhead. This came up recently on the cifs-utils list
