Solaris + PAM/LDAP + pubkey failing?
I've got a Solaris 8 and 9 box using LDAP to successfully authenticate users. I can get logged in via ssh using keyboard interactive (via PAM/LDAP). When I try to use pubkey authentication, both the pubkey as well as the fallback to keyboard interactive always fail. I've tried openssh versions as early as 3.4 and as new as the 11-06 snapshot with the same behavior. Everything works

Protocol 2 remote forwarding patch
Hi ! Here's a patch to add remote port forwarding support (protocol 2) for openssh. I have tried to test that it works like it should but a more thorough testing is needed. This patch adds both client/server support. The patch should be applied to openssh-2.1.1p4 source tree. Also included is a PortForwarding sshd_config option, new ./configure option --disable-forwarding that should make it

get_peername - start_server vs. connect
Hi, On windows, get_peername works both with connections obtained via start_server, and connections obtained via connect. On linux, get_peername seems to only work with connections obtained via start_server. (I''m using svn HEAD.) I''m wondering which is the intended behavior? (I realize get_peername is less useful for connections obtained via connect, since one should already

[PATCH] features for restricted shell environments
The patch below implements a couple of features which are useful in an environment where users do not have a regular shell login. It allows you to selectively disable certain features on a system-wide level for users with a certain shell; it also allows you to control and audit TCP forwarding in more detail. Our system is an email server with a menu for the login shell; we selectively allow port

Security suggestion concering SSH and port forwarding.
Hi, sorry if it is the wrong approuch to suggest improvments to OpenSSH, but here comes my suggestion: I recently stumbled upon the scponly shell which in it's chroot:ed form is an ideal solution when you want to share some files with people you trust more or less. The problem is, if you use the scponlyc as shell, port forwarding is still allowed. This can of course be dissallowed in

Feature suggestion: sftp over ssh client in a single connection
It has always bugged me that if I want to use a shell and perform some file transfers in a single host I have to take two SSH connections: one for the shell via ssh(1) and one for the file transfer via sftp(1). Some graphical SSH clients can perform sftp operations and ssh shell access in a single connection by using SSH2 protocol's support for multiple channels. So I hacked my openssh client

disable features
this (uncomplete) patch makes various features compile time options and saves up to 24K in the resulting ssh/sshd binaries. i don't know whether this should be added to the CVS since it makes the code less readable. perhaps WITH_COMPRESSION should be added, since it removes the dependency on libz -m Index: Makefile.inc =================================================================== RCS

Problem with Firefox and SSH/browser
Hi folks, I have a problem, shame on me I feel as newbie, I cannot open Firefox though ssh. ssh server is 7.2 and ssh client (running Xorg) is Fedora 23. Firefox does not open. SIP in the Philippines
I have a frend in Manilla who is trying to connect to an Asterisk-based VoIP provider here in Western Canada. Has anyone had difficulties with SIP in the Philippines ? I'm having a lot of trouble getting info from the provider there (PLDT) and it seems as if the device can't access a port that will allow it to get out and REGISTER with the switchboard even because the provider never sees

Asterisk and SER
Why is it that the wiki indirectly recommends SER (or another proxy) out in front of Asterisk. If Asterisk can use radius, and provide the rest of AAA they why ? VirtualBox virtual machine hangs after ISOlinux upgrade 4.05->5.10 and up.
Hello, I have specialized linux installation which uses ISOLinux bootloader. Recently isolinux version has changed from 4.05 to 5.10. From that time there is a problem with VirtualBox VM, It crashes (guru meditation) on attempt to boot from HDD or hangs on installation from CD. Strange part is, the very same ISO on ESXi VM works like a charm. Also burned on CD and started on "real"

[RFC] New shadow paging code
We (Michael Fetterman, George Dunlap and I) have been working over the last while on a full replacement for Xen''s shadow pagetable support. This mail contains some design notes, below; a patch against xen-unstable, giving a snapshot of the current state of the new shadow code, is at http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~tjd21/shadow2.patch Comments on both are welcome, although the code is not
