MySql2 adapter hangs in Rails3 on Windows XP
Previously we''ve used Rails2.xx with no problems and we''re trying to upgrade to ruby 1.9.2p180 and Rails 3.0.7 with pik to keep ruby versions separate. After some initial difficulties with MySql2 gem installation, following <a href=http://rorguide.blogspot.com/2011/03/installing- mysql2-gem-on-ruby-192-and.html>these tips</a> got mysql2 v0.2.7 installed. My problem

[RFC] design doc for straight-line scalar optimizations
Hi, As you may have noticed, since last year, we (Google's CUDA compiler team) have contributed quite a lot to the effort of optimizing LLVM for CUDA programs. I think it's worthwhile to write some docs to wrap them up for two reasons. 1) Whoever wants to understand or work on these optimizations has some detailed docs instead of just source code to refer to. 2) RFC on how to improve

[RFC] design doc for straight-line scalar optimizations
Hi Escha, We certainly would love to generalize them as long as the performance doesn't suffer in general. If you have specific use cases that are regressed due to these optimizations, I am more than happy to take a look. v2 connection logging vs v1
When connecting with v1, the server logs a message when I exit my login shell: Closing connection to 130.207.167.32 However, when connecting with v2, it only ever logs: Connection closed by remote host. Tracing through the code, it appears that instead of breaking in serverloop.c:server_loop2() at: if (had_channel && !channel_still_open()) {

-i doesn't work for v2 DSA keys
I just found that trying to specify a DSA identity file with '-i' doesn't work. Although the man page doesn't indicate that this is supported for DSA keys, it also doesn't indicate very clearly that its _not_. Indeed, in ssh.c:main(), the "-i" only increments and sets: options.options.num_identity_files options.identity_files where it would need to modify:

Chi Square with two tab-delimited text files
Hi, I want to do a chi square test and I have two tab delimited text files with Expected and Observed values to compare. Each file contains only the values and are 48 rows by 116 columns. I have managed to do something with them, but I don't think it is right as I got a p value of 1. In this case I used the read.table() function to read the values from the files. But I don't know if

patch for a few things
This isn't related to the snapshot, but mention of it reminded me to submit these changes. I added a few things, and made a couple small changes; here's a list of what the patch includes: - adds a "-1" argument to ssh and ssh.1 to force protocol1, similar to the existing "-2" argument. - adds "-1" and "-2" to scp and scp.1 as well. - adds

plot with two y axes
I'm trying to make a transition from S-plus under Windows to R under Linux. My immediate aim is to produce a scatter plot with two y-axes with different scales. That can be done in S-plus with a command of the following form: guiPlot( PlotType="Scatter", DataSet="execon", Columns="years, hstart, ship", AxisType="Multiple Y" ), where years, hstart, and

R as server in Windows
Hi All, I'm looking to call R as a server from another program in the Windows environment (the other program is written in Visual Basic). Ideally, I'd like to be able to fire up R and then feed it commands one by one (the commands will come from the user over a longish period of time, for example as the user decides they want a second plot on the basis of a first one, etc). Writing a tabel in LaTeX-format
I have a vague recollection of seeing a R-function that will output a table or matix in a format suitable for the tabular enviroment in LaTeX. But I cannot find it. Any hints? Crash in v1.2.3: istream.c: assertion failed on line 99
Hi, I have a couple of people bumping into an issue with their imap process crashing - from the users perspective, their mail client (thunderbird) just stops recieving new mail. It still seems to be possible for them to read their mail using squirell mail. When it crashes, it leaves behind a log message like this on the server: Aug 12 15:52:25 fury dovecot: imap-login: Login:

Distributed computing with R
Dear all, We have started using R for data analysis since a few months and find it useful. We are planning to acquire a high-end dedicated system for microarray data analysis and thinking of a distributed environment. I would appreciate if some one could send some pointers regarding how to choose a proper hardware configuration, software (R or other software, esp. MATLAB), issues on setting up
