First time install
This is my first time installing ssh and I am getting the following error:
$ ssh <hostname>
The authenticity of host <hostname> can't be established.
RSA key fingerprint is <xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>.
Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)?

Free Sun patch 105710-01 provides /dev/random on Solaris (fwd)
Can anyone verify this and provide a URL for the docs?

Permission Denied
Solaris 8
Openssh 2.1.1p4
Openssl-0.9.5a
Zlib 1.1.3
Anyone know why one would get the permission denied error?
It seems to be failing on the "Doing passwd authentication" phase
after the "Received encrypted confirmation" phase. I have included
the output of ssh -v.
Thanks,
David

Cisco 7960 Beating a Dead Horse
Hi all,
So I have been reading through the docs available online and the
different threads on this list, but I cannot seem to get this phone to work.
I have configured the OS79XX.TXT and SIP/SEP*.cnf files (see attached),
when I configure the phone to point to my tftp server and reboot it I
get this message:
Connection received from 10.6.0.224 on port 50608 [09/02 12:16:11.750]

/etc/urandom and Solaris
I feel very silly asking this, because I saw the answer to this question one
time and can't remember what it was. OpenSSH uses /dev/urandom or /dev/random
which Solaris does not have (verified with a call to the Sun software folks).
How do I make OpenSSH happy with a Solaris substitute for /etc/urandom?
Thanks

setting up 7940
I'm starting out w/ a Cisco 7940, running the Sip image version 6.3.
I've downloaded/installed asterisk via cvs.
I've set the phone up to get its info via dhcp - the dhcp, tftp,
astericks box & phone are on the same network. I've gone through and
setup a test account per the instructions @

/dev/random is on your Solaris CD
There was some discussion recently about the Solaris /dev/random
support that can be downloaded from Sun's patch archive as part of
a patch to the Sun Web Server 1.0 product. The SUNWski package
is the interesting bit that purports to provide /dev/random.
It was noted that domestic and international versions of the patch
existed and that only the international (no encryption) version

getting OpenSSH/OpenSSL to utilize /dev/random
I've installed Sun's SUNWski package on Solaris 8 (32-bit) that provides a
/dev/random interface. It appears to as cat'ing it gives me a bunch of
well, random data.
However, when I ran my configure, it gives me the WARNING.RND message to the
effect that I'm using the built-in. I've seen allusions on this list to
building openssl with to get random support, so I rebuilt it

UFT8 String looks great in MySql, garbage in browser
Hi,
I have some seed data in MySql which contains non-ASCII characters (as
you''d imagine as these are worldwide placenames that I''m storing). In
MySql on the command line they look great, they''re all formatted
perfectly, including Arabic and Chinese characters and they look great.
However, when I ask my Rails model for one of these fields, and render

x509 for hostkeys.
This (very quick) patch allows you to connect with the commercial
ssh.com windows client and use x509 certs for hostkeys. You have
to import your CA cert (ca.crt) in the windows client and certify
your hostkey:
$ cat << 'EOF' > x509v3.cnf
CERTPATHLEN = 1
CERTUSAGE = digitalSignature,keyCertSign
CERTIP = 0.0.0.0

No connection to mysqld
Hi.
I started mysqld.exe using Wine and it seems to work.
But when I try to connect the server seems to answer somehow (connection is established, telnet works) but it seems that no communication takes place. mysql freezes and in telnet no response is shown.
Any idea what this could mean? Running in Windows without an installer works so it has to be some problem with wine somehow.
