Again: bugs in contrib/solaris/opensshd.in and buildpkg.sh
(Shame on me: wrong filename in last posting, now here are correct diffs) in contrib/solaris/ (openssh-SNAP-20011017.tar.gz) 1) buildpkg.sh makes wrong link for /etc/init.d/opensshd 2) /etc/init.d/opensshd has not-working killproc here my version tested on Solaris 2.4 and 8 (no pgrep with solaris 2.4, XARGS was undefined, simpler syntax) J?rg --- contrib/solaris/buildpkg.sh Fri Oct 12

Update to solaris package creation
Can someone else from the Solaris realm that uses our package system verify that this should be done? It looks right, but I want another opinion before commiting. - Ben > On Wed, 27 Feb 2002, Antonio Navarro wrote: > >> Hi Ben, >> >> I have made some modifications to the buildpkg.sh script that is >> distributed with openssh. >> >> I am sending it to

number of login sessions
Hello, I'd like to know if with the current version of samba it is possible to limit the number of simultaneous login sessions? I have a lot of users which share their passwords despite being warned against it, so I was told to stop them. Until now I haven't been able to find any form to do this, Does anyone have any idea about how to do it? regards. -- -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK-----

buildpkg on solaris 8 OK BUT?..
Hello all, I was finally able to create the OpenSSH package for Solaris 8 10/01. The problem I have now is that I will still need to have entropy ready prior to openssh-3.1p1 package installation. Otherwise there is no entropy pool available (with the new servers) and key generation fails. With the previous versions of openssh, I used SUN's "makeOpenSSHPackage.ksh" script and was

samba (3.0.20) doesn't use TLS for LDAP referrals
Hello, Now I'm trying to move the LDAP backend from the master OpenLDAP server to a slave one. The ACL rules for all directories requires a "ssf = 112" (Security Strength Factor) just to be sure that all connections are properly encrypted. Also the slave directory has a referral directive pointing the master directory. Samba works perfectly with the slave directory except when

Installing opensshd on Sun Cobalt Linux, shell interpreter issue
I have just installed openssh on my Sun Cobalt Qube, running Linux. The shell interpreter for the rc script forces /sbin/sh. This is defined in opensshd.init.in. This shell does not exist on this implementation of Linux. I have written about this in (much more) detail at http://blogs.sun.com/roller/page/DaveLevy/20060104. NB This would seem to me to be a common problem but I havn't found

recovery notice on every reboot, errors writing to fs
excuse the newbie nature of the post, we recently inherited a linux server which has ext3 on it and we have encountered problems before being afforded the opportunity to properly educate ourselves... We had a situation where the server froze and required a hard restart. On reboot we get the following notices which were captured in the dmesg log EXT3-fs: INFO: recovery required on readonly

samba authentication behaves differently between windows and samba clients
Hello, I'm using samba 3.0.11 and SuSE Enterprise Server 8 (SLES8). All authentication tests using sambaclient works as expected, I can authenticate logon requests, but when I use windows 98 clients authentification fails with some password lenghts :-?. I know it sounds weird but I can reproduce it as many times as I want. i.e: password "aaa" -> smbclient - always works

The conflicting domain portions are not supported
Hi, maybe I didn't explained myself well. What i meant is that the user can't have the SID S-1-5-21-528226156-890416033-2029241632 but MUST have a sid like S-1-5-21-528226156-890416033-2029241632-xxxx ( where x is usually assigned automatically by the add user's script) Best Regards, Bruno Guerreiro -----Original Message----- From: Jos?
