Definitive guide to setting up FTPIS on vsftpd
I have a new CentOS 7.4 (recently upgraded to 7.5) system that I have been struggling with in configuring vsftpd for FTPS Implicit (port 990). (The latest instructions I've used are at: https://www.unixmen.com/configure-vsftpd-ssltls-centos-7/) Using Filezilla client, I get: Error: GnuTLS error -15: An unexpected TLS packet was received. Error: Could not connect to

VSFTPD passive mode is not working
I have Centos 5.7 64bit; I have installed vsftpd as standalone service and using it for two years now with no problem. Suddenly; only it works with active mode. The passive mode stops working and gives time out. Firewall is disabled and SELinux is set to permissive. I ran tcpdump and I noticed that only first three packets reached the FTP for passive mode and no more packets on other ports #

Vsftpd vs. iptables firewall script

I redirected all my errors to /var/log/messages, so here's what I get when I try to connect Filezilla to that server. Definitive guide to setting up FTPIS on vsftpd
Followup: I gave up on the Implicit and configured vsftpd for Explicit, that revealed some configuration errors (displayed on the client, Filezilla in my case). I then corrected these errors and switched back to Implicit and all is well. Frank M. ftp and iptables
Hi - I have a ftp server running version 2.0.7 of vsftpd on a CentSO 5.2 server using iptables behind a Linksys router. The setup works for UNIX machines on either side of the Linksys router. For the Windows machines it only works if they're behind the Linksys router - ftp does NOT work if they're outside the Linksys router. I'd like to solve two problems: (1) make ftp work

Mail delivery failing with 450
I'm not sure why this started, but apparently I'm having a DNS problem. Yesterday mail started bouncing with this error: 450 Unable to find obrien-pifer.com I think the messages eventually get delivered, but not sure. I guess I'll see if this one makes the list. I checked my domain using http://www.checkdns.net/ and it gives me a couple warnings. One is that there's no MX

FTP Migration
Hi All, Please feel free to correct any misconceptions in my premises as I get to my question. I have about 6 ftp services running on a CentOS system that is going down for service, and I want to move the ftp services to a VM on another network. These are all running on Proftpd, with fairly complicated directory/permissions/rate control layouts, as proftpd nicely supports. First, it appears

Choice of FTP server
I have taken over a number of RH/FC/CentOS servers recently. I am trying to upgrade all of them to CentOS 4.3 and configure them to only use software that can be managed via yum/apt repositories. One of the choices made by my predecessor was the pure-ftpd server over vsftpd. I cannot find a repo to get this rpm from and am wondering if anyone on the list has any practical experience with both and

Disabling Firewall/iptables on CentOS 7??
I apologize if this has been asked and answered, but I googled and attempted things for several hours today without success. I have a freshly installed CentOS 7 system that I'd like to disable the firewall and all iptables rules. GPLPV or other drivers for win2k8r2?
Hi. I have some new 64bit Windows 2008 R2 domU''s running on SLES11/xen_3.4.2. What is everyone using to get 1gb network performance on win2k8? I''ve used GPLPV on win2k3, but I see you have to sign the drivers yourself for 64bit. Maybe that process isn''t difficult, I only glance at the link from gplpv''s page. What is everyone using? GPLPV is about the only

Need apache ftp help please
System = CentOS / Apache 2.0 / HTML files location = /var/www/html Nat'd IP - ports 80, 20, 21 already opened & routed to internal ip. I desperately need the quick & dirty solution. I need a setup where one user can ftp from another desktop (windows) to upload new website files. I currently have CuteFTP, but will use anything needed at this point. I need to try to test this today.
