OpenSSH-3.0p1-pre-CVS: configure.ac checks for login in -lutil and -lbsd?
OpenSSH-3.0p1-pre, from CVS as of about 2001-10-30 23:45 UTC. Any particular reason why configure is checking for login() in -lutil, finds it, then checks for it again in -lbsd? Here's the relevant excerpts (Red Hat Linux 6.2, , kernel-2.2.19, glibc-2.1.3, egcs-1.1.2, autoconf-2.52): $ CFLAGS='-O2 -mpentium -Wall'; export CFLAGS $ ./configure

testing out 6.03 network booting...
Hi all, wasnt sure whether this was the best place to put this information; but something seems to have gone 'backwards' in the later pre-releases of 6.03 regarding network booting. below are results of me testing - i did each a few times to make sure they are valid results. hope it helps identify something that's gone awry ? so far, 6.03 pre11 and pre13 (excluding efi32) seem most

another index question
I am hoping for some advice regarding another index problem. The code below is intended to assign a value of 'V' if values on certain variables are >= 1, assign a value of 'N' if values on certain variables are >= 1 on other variables and assign a 'O' if values on any variable which have a value <= 0. The outcome of this code is to assign a single

OpenSSH-1.2.3: return of ulimit problem
The ulimit problem appears to have reared its head again with openssh-1.2.3, under Red Hat Linux 6.1 (kernel-2.2.12, glibc-2.1.2, egcs-1.1.2, openssl-0.9.5, pam-0.68, pwdb-0.60): $ telnet localhost 22 Trying 127.0.0.1... SYSLINUX 3.10-pre15
I just picked up 3.10-pre15 and the "PXELINUX corrupts graphic filename referenced from DISPLAY file" bug is zapped. Yipee! Thanks hpa. And Arwin too, if that 'xor esi, esi' was the crux. However, LOCALBOOT -1 and LOCALBOOT 0 don't work the same as they did for me in 3.07. :-( 3.07: LOCALBOOT -1 apears to work as I have a hard disk listed in bios boot order after the

bug in syslinux 6.01 with gigabyte GA-P31-DS3L
Hello, I didn't try 6.02-pre15, I will do and I will post the results, my keyboard is a PS/2 model, the "legacy USB storage option" is enabled, I tried also an USB keyboard but there is no change, so it's not a keyboard problem, it probably something in syslinux ( ldlinux.sys ? ) who create a serious bug with my motherboard, I tried also with a USB HDD ( not a flash drive )

OpenSSH-1.12pre15: PATCH: packages/redhat/sshd.init
The ChangeLog indicates: 19991113 [...] - Revised Redhat initscript to fix bug: sshd (re)start would fail if executed from inside a ssh login. Unfortunately, the changes made to the init script make it no longer work on a Red Hat Linux 4.x or 5.x system, which doesn't use the `success' or `failure' functions available in Red Hat Linux 6.x. The attached patch enables

SYSLINUX 3.71-pre15: release candidate
Hi all, I just pushed out SYSLINUX 3.71-pre15. This version officially begins the release candidate stage of SYSLINUX 3.71. To be honest, I'm a bit baffled that the numbers got that high for what has always been intended as a maintenance/bugfix release, but those 15 prereleases only correspond to 55 commits total, so I guess it's really not that much. -hpa

syslinux-4.10-pre15 and KVM guest booting problem
Hi, I have a problem to report with the 4.10-pre15 branch. The problem is that my KVM guest "just reboots" when booting off the network. The setup is as follows: Host OS: RHEL 6.0/RHEL 6.1 with the default packages (no additional repos or packages) KVM guest configured to network boot. (maybe irrelevant info ...) ?!? DHCP server (using dnsmasq) in the same subnet as the KVM host.

openssh-1.2pre15 on AIX
Hi. Pre15 compiles out-of-the-box on AIX 4.3.2 ...almost. No patch included this time, but the following were the gotchas: - The __P() prototyping doesn't work (as discussed earlier) - bsd-daemon.o wasn't linked into libssh.a (though configure seemed to detect the need for it) DCE patch will follow shortly. OT:Question on gen-id.sh $id
Somewhat off-topic. I've noticed for some time, when one recompiles the syslinux, that it uses an id that is created by the gen-id.sh script that seems to be a hex string by making the id variable equal to the $tim variable. I had modified the script to append the the prexx of the directory to the $tim variable. Tested it with the pre15 and pre17 that came out today. The first one
