sftp needs a long time for sending a filelist
Hello all Im using sftp 1:4.7p1-8ubuntu1.2 in a batchjob Ive noticed that sftp needs a long time for sending a filelist. The timespan increases exponential if many files are on the remoteserver. for example "ls -la *.txt" needs 10 seconds for 2000 files but needs 50 seconds for 4000 files. For 150.000 Files i have to wait 15 minutes for example but the

Patch: sftp client support of "ls [flags] [path [localfile]]" feature
Hello, I just downloaded OpenSSH 3.5p1. This version has some great improvement in sftp client. But I still miss the FTP's "ls [flags] remote-path [localpath]" feature to redirect the output of ls/dir to a local file. The following are the diff outputs against 3.5p1 to enable this feature. *** sftp-int.c.orig Wed Sep 11 20:34:15 2002 --- sftp-int.c Fri Oct 18 13:39:46 2002

Memory leak, make_absolute_pwd_glob
We had one more report from Coverity Scan after we brought 9.1p1 into the FreeBSD base system. It complains that calls like "path1 = make_absolute_pwd_glob(path1, *pwd);" in sftp.c leak the allocation. All make_absolute_pwd_glob() calls but one are of that form, so perhaps have it consume and free the first arg, as below (and https://reviews.freebsd.org/D37253)? diff --git

Revisiting sftp tab completion patch
I've finally took the time to figure the last few bugs (that I know of). This patch will be submit to be included in a few weeks. This patch should be generic enough for portable without too much hassle. This patch mimics OpenBSD's ftp behavior. I'm not sure like that (e.g. it doesn't put / at the end of directories by default), but that is more a question for the community

[PATCH] Add getlink command to sftp
One of the features missing in sftp is the ability to transfer a symlink. This patch adds a new command to sftp which performs this transfer. Note that it uses messages that already exist in the protocol between client and server. This diff is based on OpenSSH 3.4p1. *** sftp-client.c@@\main\1 Tue Oct 1 17:26:20 2002 --- sftp-client.c Wed Oct 23 15:57:34 2002 *************** *** 666,672 ****

[patch] hard link protocol extension for sftp
Here's a patch that adds support for the creation of hard links over SFTP. Hard links are not used very often nowdays, but they do still have their uses and this is currently the most often requested improvement for SSHFS. To detect hard links the st_nlink, st_dev and st_ino attributes are usually used. I'll also post patches adding extensions for these and other attributes. Please

Redundant Twine->StringRef->Twine conversions in llvm::sys::fs::make_absolute?
llvm::sys::fs::make_absolute converts its first parameter (const Twine &current_directory) to StringRef p(path.data(), path.size()), and then passes that StringRef to several functions (path::has_root_directory, path::has_root_name, and path::append) that accept Twines as parameters. Since llvm::StringRef can implicitly convert to an llvm::Twine, p converts to a bunch of Twine temporaries. In

sftp client reget reput
we have implemented this function for 3.1p1, and have been using it in production sense may 2002. The patch has been ported to 3.7.1p2, we have been using it in 3.7.1p2 for awhile, if anyone is interested, here it is. Problem in sftp 'ls' command output
Hello, I have recently moved from OpenSSH 3.6 to 3.7 (portable version) : [pyb at nihao tmp]$ ssh -v OpenSSH_3.7p1, SSH protocols 1.5/2.0, OpenSSL 0.9.6h 5 Dec 2002 (okay, the SSL release is a little old but that's not the subject). I am also using scripts to perform automated sftp transfers between some systems. The 3.7 release of OpenSSH broke my scripts, which made me sad and my

sftp "cd" command to drive letter under cygwin
Hello. When using sftp under cygwin, a "cd d:" attempt to change to the d: drive, results in the following: sftp> cd d:/ Couldn't canonicalise: No such file or directory. It can only be done by using a cygdrive-type path: sftp> cd /cygdrive/d sftp> pwd Remote working directory: /cygdrive/d sftp> yet a local cd (lcd) works fine. "lcd d:" works, and then lpwd

Problems with SFTP
Guys, Once again I need some help I hope you can give me. When I try to SFTP to any of my PCs (also running openssh) from my Xscale (ARM, big-endian) system sftp segfaults on me. Sftp to the xscale system works without any problems. I'm using openssl-0.9.8b (with ocf support), linux-2.6.16 and openssh 4.3p2 on the Xscale system. One of the systems I try to sftp to runs Openssh 3.7.1p2, with

SFTP Status Bar..
This is the LAST version I plan on doing.. If I hear no feed back good or bad. Then I'll assume I've wasted my time on a feature that people whine about but don't care to try. This is against 3.0.2pX so it should be VERY easy for anyone to test. - Ben diff -ur openssh-3.0.2p1/misc.c openssh/misc.c --- openssh-3.0.2p1/misc.c Tue Jul 3 23:46:58 2001 +++ openssh/misc.c Wed Feb 6

unhappy with aov performance
As the subject says, I am unhappy with R's aov performance. I have a data set containing 25000 cases. This causes thrashing even with very moderate formulae, because the model matrix has quite a lot of lines. The study has 9x3x2x2x2 (or so) design factors. Is there a recommended method for pre-condensing the data before inputting them into aov in R? I want to be able to preserve the person

.plan to avoid unhappy users
Hi, I am on a developpers list for mandrake: cooker@ and the rsync-servers broke which resulted in a lot of very unhappy people cause their rsync directories got empied. My idea is the following. rsync is a mirroring tool. The usual thing that happens in a mirroring tool is that packages do not disappear. You server that archive: like the linux-kernel server. And you got servers that update

pvals.fnc unhappy about lmer objects
Dear folks (or Dear Professor Bates), I'm quite confused as to the current status of some of the available functions applicable to lmer objects. Following the examples in Baayen, Davidson, Bates (2006), my plan is to run mcmcsamp on a random effect model created by lmer in package lme4, then use the (perhaps outdated) pvals to estimate p-value. But then I couldn't find pvals anywhere.

distributed thinlto usage
I am trying to work through the usage of thinlto for distributed builds. Here is the simple thinlto usage, just add -flto=thin everywhere, easy: clang++ -flto=thin -O3 -c -o CreateWay_.o -DSPEC_CPU -DNDEBUG -DSPEC_CPU_LITTLE_ENDIAN -Wno-dangling-else CreateWay_.cpp clang++ -flto=thin -O3 -c -o Places_.o -DSPEC_CPU -DNDEBUG -DSPEC_CPU_LITTLE_ENDIAN

distributed thinlto usage
Thanks Teresa Yes it is astar, happen to send a tar of the sources but they are just copies from the spec distribution The ld command is: GNU ld (GNU Binutils) 2.29.1 Thanks for the guidance on path names. The prefix-replace just effects the string written to the object files right? So we could post-process that file with other tools as well, correct? Thanks again --david From: Teresa Johnson

R system command does not work with objects/variables
Hello! with the R system command I would like to call a perl script which needs an input directory and an output directory in form of a path. When I put in the path directly it works. The script line looks as follows: system("perl '../path1' '../path2' '../path3'") If I store the path in a variable/object and call the perl script again it does not run and I
