[PATCH] rework master-to-worker signaling to use a pipe
Signaling using normal kill(2) is preserved, but the master now prefers to signal workers using a pipe rather than kill(2). Non-graceful signals (:TERM/:KILL) are still sent using kill(2), as they ask for immediate shutdown. This change is necessary to avoid triggering the ubf (unblocking function) for rb_thread_call_without_gvl (and similar) functions extensions. Most notably, this fixes

[PATCH] Start the server if another user has a PID matching our stale pidfile.
If unicorn doesn''t get terminated cleanly (for example if the machine has its power interrupted) and the pid in the pidfile gets used by another process, the current unicorn code will exit and not start a server. This tiny patch fixes that behaviour. --- lib/unicorn/http_server.rb | 2 +- 1 files changed, 1 insertions(+), 1 deletions(-) diff --git a/lib/unicorn/http_server.rb

Request queue length
Is there a way to get the number of requests that are currently awaiting to be executed by my rails app by unicorn? Or there is no queue in unicorn and I should look for this information somewhere in nginx or other front-end server? Couldn''t find much information about this topic, so decided to ask here first.

SSL support pushed out to unicorn.git :x
Consider this a joke until somebody who knows crypto well can review it (_and_ kgio-monkey[1]). I know it works with curl (test case included) and I can''t see plain-text when I strace/tcpdump, that''s about it :) Subject: [PATCH] add preliminary SSL support This will also be the foundation of SSL support in Rainbows! and Zbatery. Some users may also want to use this in Unicorn

if_indextoname on Windows?
Hi all, Windows Vista Home Premium VC++ 9 According to MSDN, the if_indextoname() function should be included on Vista: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb408408%28VS.85%29.aspx However, I can''t get mkmf to see it. I tried all of these: require ''mkmf'' if have_header(''netioapi.h'') # yes have_func(''if_indextoname'',

Received header only showing localhost
Hi all, I?m a new dovecot user and a first-time poster so please forgive me if this is a stupid question, or even (as I suspect it might be) not really a Dovecot question. My system is the fairly typical mix of postfix, amavis-new, and Dovecot. For some reason I?ve noticed that when I look at the mail headers for delivered messages the Received header is missing the detail of any external

HPUX 9.05 & Samba 2.0.0 & problems -> solved !
Hi there ! I just solved the problem that produced following error in smb.log file: 'check_access_allowed_for_current_user: The process is no longer waiting!' Since nobody gave me any help I had to dig this out myself :-) This error happens if two programs hold more than 10 same files simultaneously open through Samba and check_access_allowed_for_current_user() gets called. And this

Some fixes for building the Debian package for 1.20.2
I needed to add a few patches to be able to build libguestfs 1.20.2 out of tree. Mostly srcdir/builddir issues -- I think that I had posted something for building the daemon before. As mentioned on IRC, I found that compiling (Ruby bindings) caused config.h file shipped with the Ruby headers to be included rather than ${builddir}/config.h. This can be fixed because the relevant checks can be

strange behaviour when sourcing inside function
Dear R community, I encounter a problem that is counterintuitive to my understanding of the documentation of source and the "local" argument of that function. With the following code, I would expect the content of "test.R" to be evaluated inside the environment of the function "test". This, however, does not seem to be the case as the object "a" can

Regular expressions: stuck again...
Hi, I'm currently reworking a report, originating from a MS Access database, but should be implemented in R. Now I'm facing the task to convert a lot of queries to postgreSQL. What I want to do is make a function which takes the MS Access query as an argument and returns the pgSQL version. So: SELECT [public_tblFiche].[Fichenr], [public_tblArtnr].[Artnr] FROM [public_tblFiche],

RJSONIO/rjson maximum depth?
Hi All, has anyone run into maximum depth of nested JSON arrays in either rjson or RJSONIO ? I seem to be able to get up to 10 depth levels without problem, but crossing over to 11 either causes an error or fails to load the nodes properly. with RJSONIO I tried: a = fromJSON('data/myJSON.json', depth=1000) but I still get this error: Error in fromJSON(content, handler, default.size,

CentOS AWS AMIs?
Hi list, I've noticed that instance-backed AMIs no longer seem to exist for the 'official' CentOS images, though the EBS ones are fine.. Looking at the wiki (http://wiki.centos.org/Cloud/AWS), the AMIs listed on marketplace are slightly newer than what's listed on the wiki, so just wondering if something got overlooked after the last build? Cheers, -- Richard Clark richard at

Entering a table
I'm trying to enter a frequency table manually so that I can run a goodness of fit test (I only have the frequencies, I don't have the raw data). So for example, let's say I want to re-create the HorseKicks table: library(vcd) data(HorseKicks) str(HorseKicks) 'table' int [1:5(1d)] 109 65 22 3 1 - attr(*, "dimnames")=List of 1 ..$ nDeaths: chr [1:5]

Regular Expressions in grep
Dear r-help members, I have a number in the form of a string, say: a<-"-01020.909200" I'd like to extract "1020." as well as ".9092" Front<-grep(pattern="[1-9]+[0-9]*\\.", value=TRUE, x=a, fixed=FALSE) End<-grep(pattern="\\.[0-9]*[1-9]+", value=TRUE, x=a, fixed=FALSE) However, both strings give "-01020.909200", exactly
