java-1.4.2-gcj-compat.i386 update failure
Hmmm, I seemed to have created a misalignmnet somewhere along the line. I can't remember doing anything to this. But at one time I did try to test the java open source. Posted my results to the list, got no response, abandoned all hope and went on my merry way. I don't know if this is related. I have installed an rpm for a java needed by an application I run. It was from the official

Problem w/ SJava package
Hello, Seems like it is almost working properly. I was able to run examples calling R from Java successfully for the java code below. However, some commands, such as "objects" when not commented out, give me the following error? If you could point me to the correct place to find a solution, I would much appreciate it. I am new to the R community and not sure where is the appropriate

Installing Java using jpackage.org's java-*-sun-compat RPMs
As requested on IRC, this is my proposed walkthough for installing Java on CentOS 4 using jpackage.org's compat-rpm method. Please review and comment. 1. make sure jpackage-utils is installed $ rpm -q jpackage-utils jpackage-utils-1.7.3-1jpp.2.el5 if it isn't already installed, you can install it using # yum install jpackage-utils The package is part of CentOS, so you don't need to

Setting up Tomcat as a service under CentOS 4?
I've found about a dozen different ways to skin this cat (no pun intended). Everything from creating a script in /etc/init.d/ to using jsvc. I was hoping someone out there, those of you out there who run Tomcat in this manner, how did *you* set this up? I can't seem to get it right. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Or even direction to an authoritative document. Preston
