opensshd.in
I've had the wrong sshd daemon killed by "killing using alternate method"
too many times.
Would this cause anyone any grief?

contrib/solaris/opensshd.in patch
This patch adds the seatbelts which _only_ kill parent sshd procs... -RMallory
(eg: when you ssh into a machine and pkgadd the new openssh, it will not
kill your current (or anyone else's sshd session)
onanother_note: the buildpkg.sh could use some exec_prefix functionality...
to deal with ./configure --prefix= --exec_prefix=/usr

Get "some read error" on calls to worker
I''m running the latest from svn (rev 285). I''ve been having a problem
launching a process repeatedly. What happens is that I get a debug
message "some read error" and then the worker refuses to run again.
I''ve stripped my worker down to just doing a puts and it still happens.
Like the other threads I want to launch my workers as needed, however I
get the

Logging of comments on keys
Hi,
during our usual work I found it anoying that one can not easily see
who logged in using public key authentication. In newer versions of
SSH the fingerprint of the public key gets logged, but who can tell
which key belongs to whom from his head?
So I wrote a little ad-hoc patch (vs. 3.5.p1) so that the comment
field on the keys in the authorized_keys[2] files get logged to make

PRIVSEP annoys me.
what's the point of using a new message type if it's the same as
RSAAuthentication?
the stat() fails because the process that reads
from the network is chrooted.
check PRIVSEP() in auth-rsa.c to figure out how
RSAAuthentication works with PRIVSEP.

OS/390 openssh
Hello Steve, Hello OpenSSH-portable developers,
I am building OpenSSH for our (EBCDIC-based) BS2000 mainframe
operating system, and I noticed you do the same for OS/390.
Because my initial ssh port was based on IBM's OSS port (ssh-1.2.2
or some such), I thought it was fair enough to help with a little
co-operation; we might come up with a unified EBCDIC patch which could
be contributed to

CentOS 4.2 x86_64
I have a couple of 64-Bit Xeon's with CentOS 4.2 x86_64 installed on
them. They don't all have the same motherboards.
I've having a difficult time getting CentOS 4.2 x86_64 to boot on some
of them in SMP mode (UP works fine). After the installation of CD, it
boots up but kernel panics with the following error:
Badness in i8042_panic_blink at drivers/input/serio/i8042.c:992

[RFC 0/3] VirtIO RDMA
Data center backends use more and more RDMA or RoCE devices and more and
more software runs in virtualized environment.
There is a need for a standard to enable RDMA/RoCE on Virtual Machines.
Virtio is the optimal solution since is the de-facto para-virtualizaton
technology and also because the Virtio specification
allows Hardware Vendors to support Virtio protocol natively in order to

Query on finding root
Sir,
I want to solve the equation Q(u)=mean, where Q(u) represents the quantile
function. Here my Q(u)=(c*u^lamda1)/((1-u)^lamda2), which is the quantile
function of Davies (Power-pareto) distribution. Hence I want to solve ,
*(c*u^lamda1)/((1-u)^lamda2)=28353.7....(Eq.1)*
where lamda1=0.03399381, lamda2=0.1074444 and c=26104.50. When I used the
package 'Davies' and solved Eq 1, I got the
