Disabling Firewall/iptables on CentOS 7??
I apologize if this has been asked and answered, but I googled and attempted things for several hours today without success. I have a freshly installed CentOS 7 system that I'd like to disable the firewall and all iptables rules. Basically the equivalent of doing iptables -F In a nutshell I've tried the following commands, in many different ways and orders, but when the system

GPLPV or other drivers for win2k8r2?
Hi. I have some new 64bit Windows 2008 R2 domU''s running on SLES11/xen_3.4.2. What is everyone using to get 1gb network performance on win2k8? I''ve used GPLPV on win2k3, but I see you have to sign the drivers yourself for 64bit. Maybe that process isn''t difficult, I only glance at the link from gplpv''s page. What is everyone using? GPLPV is about the only

should restarting xend restart all the domU''s?
I had an issue late yesterday where some windows domU''s were down. The person who "owns" those domUs let windows updates install and then restart, which they failed to restart. When I tried to manually restart them I was getting can''t allocate memory errors. In the past I''ve had can''t allocate memory errors when trying to bring up a new domU.

Is this typical memory usage?
I have xen 3.04 running on SLES10SP1. It''s working great, but I''m wondering if I have some memory issues with dom0. I have 7 domU''s, 1 is win2k, the other 6 are win2k3. I''ve had a lot of machines up and down with a reboot of dom0 in quite a while. I''m wondering if dom0 has not given up memory during the process. I added 5 win2k3 domU''s today.

OT: procmail recipe question
I'm trying to use procmail and I'm having trouble getting it to set some headers. I have one mailing list that sets ?Newsgroups: in the header and I want to remove it. I have the following test recipe: :0 * ^Subject:.*\<testing * ^(Mime-Version:|Content-) | formail -IMime-Version: -IContent- If I understand it correctly, it should remove the Mime-Verion and Content headers. OT: Script Help
Sorry for the off topic, but don't a better resource. I'm not great at scripting, but need a quick script to modify a file. I have a long file that has lines like this: some text some text2 CN=DATA.OU=XYZ.O=CO some text3 some text4 And this repeats, but XYZ changes. "DATA" is always called data. (it's being renamed basically) I need to change the middle line but leave

access to httpd logs
I need to enable some access to the httpd logs over ftp so they can be analyzed by another application to get a report. I used to do this on Windows NT before replacing the server with CentOS. Thanks to help from another thread I have an ftp server enabled on the web server. I thought the easiest thing to do would be to create an id for the application to connect with, then provide a symlink to

Yum updates packages for other arch too
Hi, I have the x86_64 arch on my server so therfore i expect that yum updates only x86_64 packages. With the last *yum update* i?ve noticed a strange behaviour while retrieving the needed packeges. As you you see, yum wants install packages for different architectures: glibc x86_64 2.3.4-2.25 base 4.9 M glibc i686 2.3.4-2.25 base 5.1 M . .

OT: missing /dev paths
Looking for help kind of in a hurry. I've been searching google but not finding any options. Is there any way to fix missing /dev paths to luns without rebooting? For example, see the output from lsscsi below. The only way I know to fix this is with a reboot, but I REALLY Need to avoid that if possible. New CentOS7 Install Yum will not work
Hi Everyone: I have been fighting this all morning. I did a new (several) installs of CentOS7. Yum will not update the system. I have disabled ipv6, set yum.conf to use IPv4 only, disabled firewalld, disabled selinux, used both static ip and dhcp for network connectivity. I can ping any where on the Internet, including the mirrors, DNS works and ensured the base URL line was uncommented. Any

Mail delivery failing with 450
I'm not sure why this started, but apparently I'm having a DNS problem. Yesterday mail started bouncing with this error: 450 Unable to find obrien-pifer.com I think the messages eventually get delivered, but not sure. I guess I'll see if this one makes the list. I checked my domain using http://www.checkdns.net/ and it gives me a couple warnings. One is that there's no MX

Why not use yum mirrorlist= instead of baseurl= in CentOS-Base.repo
Currently the default yum configuration references mirror.centos.org. When yum looks up the IP address it finds several but it will only try one and fail if that server is down or does not have the headers for whatever reason. If yum were to reference a mirrorlist it would skip servers that fail and keep trying them all until it finds one that works or exhausts all the mirrors. Centos would
