SYSLINUX-3.52-pre5: XP BOOTSEC.BIN Bug
I just encountered my only bug w/ the ISOLINUX+VESAMENU combination from 3.52-pre5. Updated a *working* CD project w/ the new ISOLINUX+VESAMENU combo just last week. Booting my preferred Linux distro (Slax-6) from my custom CDs work perfectly, however when I updated a CD project that includes BartPE/WinPE, BartPE fails to boot w/ 'CDBoot can not boot CD: error 4" msg. what is wine good for?
well if you think this is trolling youre probably right. but. there is a but. i've been using wine since years, from time to time, i compiled it, tried various versions both precompiled and source up to the present day. now i give up. wine is unusable. period. dont want to say it is a piece of crap because of all the hard work that is behind, but it is irritating to say the least. seriously

Hi there, I'm running Ubuntu 8.04, 32-bit. Now using Wine 1.1.17 Using Ati binary driver 9.2 for x1600 series I'm experiencing problems with Left 4 Dead. Basically I have sound, and I can get to the main menu no problem using this command (which I found on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=far0jjAlg24). getting l4d2 to run better?
Hey guys, I'm running ubuntu 10.04 on wine 1.2-rc3 on a Asus G73JH Laptop. Ive gotten steam and l4d2 to install and I can run both, but while in game with l4d2, it runs okay at certain points but then studders/slows down when the action ramps up. Is there anything I can do to improve the performance so its more playable? Thanks for the help.

mount: unknown filesystem type 'exfat'
Hello, Can anyone please tell me whether guestfish can mount exFAT partitions? I created a full disk image of a drive which contained a single exFAT partition. Was able to mount it with kpartx/FUSE: # kpartx -a -v disk.img add map loop0p1 (252:2): 0 39070078 linear 7:0 2 # mount /dev/mapper/loop0p1 /mnt -o ro FUSE exfat 1.2.3 # ls /mnt foo bar baz etc but not guestfish: $ sudo apt install

lets talk abaut gstreamer 1.10.5, gstreamer-libav, ffmpeg, bluray and vlc
Hello guys, my playground this days with gstreamer resources can be found at: http://centos.cms4all.org/repo/7/gstreamer/ The best thing for centos I think to compile the given one by gstream libav: Has ffmpeg 3.2.5 not ffmpeg 2.8.13 what is the background for vlc. In principal it's possible to build ffmpeg 3.4. http://centos.cms4all.org/repo/7/gstreamer-ffmpeg3/ vlc 2.26 is only

backing up email / saving maildir on external hard drives
Hello, Yesterday I tried to back up a 40GB maildir . I tried to move the maildir from home to external HDD but failed. Decided then to compress it(which took several hours). Now changing the disk format from FAT to exFAT to allow the transfer for the large compressed file. How does one back up emails on a external drive? Some advice would be greatly appreciated.

bluray recorder
Hello :-) I have just bought a Pioneer 15x BluRay recorder. I saw something like below in the dmesg, I cannot access video with VLC, should I worry about that? I guess recording files can be done just as for DVD with growisofs? :-) (cd2:ata0:0:1:0): READ DVD STRUCTURE. backing up email / saving maildir on external hard drives
Dear Christian, Thanks for your feedback. The HDD will not accept larger than 4GB (as its in FAT format). Its a new external HDD. Thinking of the best format(that would work with Mac , Win and Linux) .seems like a challenge. What's your view on NTFS? And why not exFAT? YUM (DNF) Possible Confusion Centos 8
Folks In a test Centos 8 installation as a guest of VirtualBox on Windows 10, I want to install ffmpeg, and support for exfat. They're not in the standard distribution (as far as I know), so I issue as root: yum -y --enablerepo rpmfusion-free-updates install ffmpeg fuse-exfat exfat-utils and that works just fine. The ffmpeg functionality works; I haven't tested exfat yet.

Valve Source games display problem
I'm hoping someone can help me figure this problem out. It's been bugginng me for quite a while. First, basic specs: 8.04 Kubuntu x86 64 bit system. Nvidia 9600 GT video card 2GB RAM Wine version 1.1.10 I've been running wine for several years, so it's distinctly possible that I've got some leftover configuration information that's messing me up. I've tried
