similar to: PXELINUX 3.86 Boots Over HTTP, 4.00 Does Not

I am using gPXE 1.0.0 to boot PXELINUX 3.86 over HTTP without problems, but when I switch pxelinux.0 3.86 with 4.00-pre47, I get ?Unable to locate configuration file?. Is HTTP booting not working with 4.00, or is some special compile/settings needed?

I just noticed with a MEMDISK 3.86 that specifying the "iso" option on the command-line actually resulted in the .ISO getting BIOS drive number 0xFF. I had to specify "iso harddisk=224 pause" to confirm that it resulted in 0xE0 (hd96).

it seems versions of pxelinux 4.00 and later hangs qemu (0.12.x, 0.13.x) when network booting using etherboot or gPXE and qemu's kvm support is enabled. pxelinux 3.86 and earlier do not appear to trigger the problem. i also didn't experience the problem with qemu-kvm (formerly known as kvm). qemu without kvm support enabled also seems to work fine. for more details, please see:

I just downloaded the pre48 and ran make. It ran fine for everything, but ended with a number of errors related to the syslxcom program. Usually, I only see the messages about the windows build since I am doing the make on a Fedora 10 system. Is there something new that has been added that requires something that I am missing? In the process of investigation I stumbled across http://www.etherboot.org/wiki/appnotes/authmenus which indicates the gpxe can launch vesamenu.c32 directly. Hi, Anyone has tried to use pxechain with Etherboot? Here is my problem: The Etherboot client had no problem to get the list of install servers manual from the pxechain. But didn't matter which server was chosen, Etherboot client always tried to use the first server to do the installation. Etherboot 5.4 was used. What the problem may be? PXEchain or Etherboot? I have produced a first cut of integrating gPXE with PXELINUX. This builds, in addition to the usual pxelinux.0, an image called gpxelinux.0 which includes the gPXE network stack. The result is that one can now download images via (almost) any network protocol supported by gPXE, including http.
