3 Bugs in SysLinux -3.86
As the first step, I want to thank everybody involved for making a majorly useful application! Second, here are the problems I see: Bug 1: if DEFAULT is not a tag, but a kernel name, menu.c32 fails loading. Bug 2: When menu.c32 returns to syslinux (on pressing Esc), the splash screen is not shown; Bug 3 or a missing feature: When grub.exe tries to return control to syslinux, it

PXELINUX 3.86 Boots Over HTTP, 4.00 Does Not?
I am using gPXE 1.0.0 to boot PXELINUX 3.86 over HTTP without problems, but when I switch pxelinux.0 3.86 with 4.00-pre47, I get ?Unable to locate configuration file?. Is HTTP booting not working with 4.00, or is some special compile/settings needed?

Recovery console doesn't work in chain.c32 3.85 or 3.86-pre1
The Windows recovery console doesn't work with chain.c32 3.85 or 3.86-pre1. COM32 chain.c32 APPEND cmldr=/cmldr Initially reported by cdob at: http://www.boot-land.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=10487#entry94001 It did work fine with the: "chain.c32: Handle nonlinear logical partitions" patch. The following patch broke the recovery console hack: chain.c32: add option to set hidden

chain loading Syslinux 3.86 from 6.04
Hello, I was wondering if someone might give me a hand. I have a multiboot drive I maintain and I am trying to add the ESXi installer to it. It seems well documented that VMWare uses their own mboot.c32 file which is built from not the same code in SYSLINUX mboot.c32 3.86 . I'm using the Syslinux 6.04 from the Ubuntu repositories. I have compiled Syslinux 3.86 . I thought I could try

chain loading Syslinux 3.86 from 6.04
Thanks! The only way I could see to write to a file is using the win32 version and specifying a file after the drive letter. syslinux.exe D: syslinux.bin This throws the same message on to boot and just says Boot error. Is that what you meant to write it to a file? I tried in Linux: syslinux --install syslinux.bin and that did not work(throws an error that syslinux.bin does not exist). I

PXELINUX 3.86 Boots Over HTTP, 4.00 Does Not
Hi , Thought I would keep the same topic as a previous post in June - still is a problem with pre49 Setting dhcp options 209 and 210 is breaking gpxe/pxelinux - everything else being the same, it works fine in 3.86 and not 4.00. ..Inserting following into pxelinux.gpxe ... set 209:string pxelinux.cfg/default set 210:string http://xxxxxxxx.xxx.xx.uk/pxe/ It is hanging with 'Trying to

3.86-pre1 gpxelinux.0 SIS900 long boot time / fails to boot / no entries in tftp server log
Okay guys, This is separate from my last few messages. Along with those attempts, I decided to migrate from pxelinux.0 to gpxelinux.0 in my existing setup. Admittedly I haven't tried previous gpxelinux.0's but I am willing to if someone thinks it would be useful. Everything works as expected with pxelinux.0 of the same version. With gpxelinux.0: TFTP Prefix: Trying to load:

Syslinux 3.86 released; Syslinux 4.00 now in beta test
Syslinux 3.86 is out; it is a bug fix release. Syslinux 4.00, starting with Syslinux 4.00-pre38, is now officially in beta test. Special thanks to Intel Corporation, my current employer, for their support for my Syslinux work. Changes in 3.86: * chain.c32: fix chainloading the MBR of a hard disk (broken in 3.85). * mboot.c32: report the boot loader name in the information structure. *

chain loading Syslinux 3.86 from 6.04
Thanks. That gets me further. Syslinux 4.07 loads from Syslinux 6.04 now. For some reason though it reread D:\syslinux.cfg instead of D:\ESXi\syslinux.cfg . I don't see the directive that tells Syslinux(4) to look in the sub directory for syslinux.cfg instead of the root. The only thing (right now) I can see that is different, is my D:\syslinux.cfg is one file while yours loads other files

Failing to get pxechain.com working, SYSLINUX 3.86.
To start, I know I need to upgrade SYSLINUX, but since we are using the CMenu's it's not that easy of an upgrade. I have been (slowly) working on a new iPXE/pxelinux 4.04 install that I am migrating to. However, I have an interesting problem. Using any of the examples I have seen, I can not make pxechain.com work. "pxechain.com ::/path/pxelinux.0" "pxechain.com

RAID 1: missing operating system
Hi all, I'm trying to setup a RAID-1 with Centos4.2 on HP Netserver E60. The raid consists of 2 9,1GB SCSI disks. The partitioning and installation process went smoothly, but after it finished and rebooting, there is an error: Missing operating system. The partition is: / /home swap Bootloader is on device md0. What could be possibly wrong? Thank you, -- Fajar Priyanto | Reg'd Linux

error loading operating system
Does anyone have an idea how to fix this problem. When installing from floppy, it appears that everything installs correctly to hda1. I can see all the files that get installed on hda1 when mounting it. However, after I change the boot options to boot from hard disk I get the above error. I have never had this problem before, it usually installs very fast and painless. The only difference this

[LLVMdev] wrong guess at operating system in the bug reports form
Hi, The bug reporting system at http://llvm.org/bugs/enter_bug.cgi? product=clang guessed my operating system to be Macintosh, 9.x but it is Macintosh, 10.x. The form says to mail this address in case the system wasn't guessed right. some details that are maybe helpful to you: Mac OSX 10.4.11 Safari 3.1.2 (4525.22) and I didn't do tricks to try to change my browsers user-agent.

Operating queues with clients on a legacy PABX
Hi guys! I'm having one or two issues with queues hosted by an Asterisk machine where the clients are on a legacy PABX - at least for the interim. I fully expect most of these issues to be non-resolvable, but thought I'd at least ask to find out if there is some way of working around the issues. The legacy PABX is an NEC 7400 ICS connected to Asterisk via an E1 ISDN link. Calls are
