Can't get ipw2200 to work in CentOS 5 on Dell laptop
I've installed ipw2200-firmware-3.0-3.nodist.rf from RPMForge using yum OK. I've loaded the ipw modules with /sbin/modprobe ipw2200 and then /sbin/lsmod | grep ipw which gives: ipw2200 136873 0 ieee80211 33417 1 ipw2200 However, when I run system-config-network I don't see Intel Coporation PRO/Wireless 2200BG (eth1) in the list of adapters. Also, when I

reshape command is (stats) dropping instances
I would really appreciate it if anyone could determine what is going on with the following command. It is only half-working and is losing lots of data. For the life of me I cannot even see the pattern of what it is losing and what it is not. I am attaching the R data set which you can use with the Load Workspace menu function.

Actiontec's Internet Phone Wizard and Digium's S100U
Hi, There is someone on this list who has the specification for the IPW driver? I want to provide full support for it in DIAX Phone, but Actiontec does not answer to my mails. There is any windows driver available for the Digium's S100U USB interface? Anyone knows if it can provide full functionality for the connected phone, like callerid, callwaiting callerid, message indication, ring,

Difficulties in trying to do a mixed effects model using the lmer function
Dear people of the help list I am drying to analyze my data using the 'lmer' function and I keep having problems. This is the model: > fm1<-lmer(dbh~spec+scheme+(1|Plot),data=d, REML=FALSE). I analyse tree size (dbh) of 3 different species (spec) and 3 planting schemes (scheme). I have 5 plots, which I hope to model as a random factor. (However, the subsequent output is based on

Independent Components Analysis
A colleague suggested that some R software was available for estimating "Independent Components Analysis" (ICA) (... signal separation). If so, I''d appreciate any pointers . ipw3945 wireless not working
This is a new Centos 5.1 install on a HP nc2400 (that use to run XP). Completely clean install; blew away the XP partitions... After applying all the updates, and configuring for the rpmforge repo, I used yumex to install dkms and the dkms-ipw3945, ipw3945-firmware, and ipw3945d rpms. lsmod|grep ipw shows: ipw3945 180391 1 ieeee80211 33417 1 ipw3945 and dmesg)grep

tapply with unequal length of arguments
Hi everyone, Is it possible to use tapply(x,y,mean) if not all groups of x by y are of the same length (for example if you have one missing observation)? I tried tapply(x,y,mean,na.omit=T) but it doesn't work! Use of ICA for sound
Hi, I'm looking at the "cocktail party" classic problem. I can see how to use ICA to separate the components. But, How do I then create new wav files of the separated sounds so that they can be played? Stretch the x-axis for better alignment comparison
I have the following code that aligns the two graphs. Problem is that in .pdf it gives me it x-axis (0-100) is broken down into 0-20, 20-40..and so on. I wonder if there is for it to display the x-axis (and y-axis) in more detail than that. I'd appreciate your input -- pdf(file="VECTOR & ICA ALIGNMENT.pdf", height=5, width=5)

print() from within a function - Windows specific? (PR#7584)
Full_Name: Markus Liedgens Version: Ever since 1.6 OS: Windows 98 / Windows Xp Submission from: (NULL) (81.63.111.226) To control the progress of a function one can consider to use print() to issue a message in the command window. However, using Win98 / R 1.9 or WinXP / R 2.0, this approach is of little usefulness, since all the print() commands are issued at once, just before the control

Self compiled wine does not find CD-Rom
Hello, there seems to be an odd behaviour regarding the CD-Rom drives in wine depending on whether you run a precompiled version (in my case a Debian package) or compile wine for yourself (same version). Background is that there seems to be a regression in wine which I wanted to debug. The regression is in a game which checks for the CD first and then shows an intro and a menu (which has

I have RHel6. How does that turn into Centos 6?
The bickering here about Centos 6 has made me wonder what is actually legally necessary to re-distribute the RPM files that come with RHel6. I am not starting a flame ware, I hope. I'm just curious about what is minimally necessary go from RHel6 to another distribution. I suppose we could discuss "Paul Linux 6" instead of Centos, if that makes you feel more comfortable. Loadings and scores from fastICA?
Hi all, Does anyone know how to get the independent components and loadings from an Independent Component Analysis (ICA), as well as principal components and loadings from a Pricipal Component analysis (PCA) using the fastICA package? Or perhaps if there's another way to do ICAs in R? Below is an example from the fastICA manual (http://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/fastICA/fastICA.pdf)

RHWAS rebuild efforts
There is a new Web Application Stack that I would like to get the RPMS for into CentOS Plus. I am trying to get the upstream provider to the provide these SRPMS to their public FTP server, but so far they are not there: https://www.redhat.com/archives/nahant-list/2006-October/msg00053.html These RPMS would be a major add to CentOSPlus .... as they would provide an enterprise web stack with
