multivariate xts merge question
Hi, I have an xts starting with a number of columns (currency pairs see below), then I add new ones which are derived from existing ones (like adding the moving average of a column) by merging the new columns one by one. These get the name of the column they are calculated from concatenated with ".1". All done by merge.xts, easy. Now, I have a function (procState below) which generates

Rownames are always character?

Has anyone had any issues with this latest kernel? We rebooted our servers into this new kernel yesturday and our internet conectivity broke. I fiddled arround with some of the setting to get our machines talking to the net again with no success. It seems that we are able to talk to local hosts on our network, but anything external is broken. I gave up in the end and resorted to the previous

too much cpu system time with kernel 2.6.9-22.0.2.EL
I'm running a server recently installed with centos 4.2. It's running the kernel in the subject line, on an PIII 866Mhz with 512mb ram. The system is running basically two processes: 1) ssh to remote system, receiving a stream of bytes piped into 2) gzip the stream, write to disk file The system is slow, relatively (866Mhz cpu) and the network is fast (gigabit) so the limiting factor
