When you add "quiet" to the append line, Syslinux doesn't display the file reading progress anymore. When you use this option to boot an image with MEMDISK, you still get a lot of text. ========================== LABEL mydisk LINUX memdisk INITRD mydisk.img APPEND raw quiet ========================== The following patch makes MEMDISK silent when the quiet keyword is passed to the

Safe Harbor Games : Backgammon - Almost works with Wine
Safe Harbor Games (http://www.safeharborgames.net/) is a popular site in the backgammon community. I am one of several people trying to get the game server to work on Linux with Wine. I am using a Asus EEE 1000HE with the latest version of Easy Peasy (Ubuntu) and Wine. The game software requires browser to launch and I was successful in getting this to work by loading windows version of

system2 fails with quiet=TRUE, but runs through with quiet=FALSE
Hi, I have recently tried to check the test coverage using library("covr") and, interestingly, the command > covr::package_coverage() fails, while > covr::package_coverage(quiet = FALSE) runs through without problem. I traced the problem to a call to utils::install.packages(), where the option quiet is passed on. In utils::install.packages(), the problem seems to lie in the

[PATCH] v2v: make virsh command quiet if v2v is quiet (RHBZ#1358142)
Pass -q to virsh if virt-v2v was run with -q, to reduce its output in quiet mode. Unfortunately this does not currently work in virsh as it should, see RHBZ#1358179, so only after that bug is fixed this change can actually take effect. --- v2v/output_libvirt.ml | 20 ++++++++++++-------- 1 file changed, 12 insertions(+), 8 deletions(-) diff --git a/v2v/output_libvirt.ml b/v2v/output_libvirt.ml

Asterisk with gizmo5 and google voice only takes one call at a time.
my problem is this. I have google forward the call to gizmo5. I have this line in my sip file : register => user:password at proxy01.sipphone.com I believe this lines connects asterisk with gizmo5 so when it gets a call from Google, asterisk will answer it? At the end of my sip file i have this [Calls-From-Gizmo-Network] type=user context=demo disallow=all allow=ulaw allow=ilbc allow=gsm

Quiet the Logger in 1.1
I''m using Rails 1.1 and I''m trying to quiet the logger. I searched the mailing list and placed the following inside my environment.rb: RAILS_DEFAULT_LOGGER.level = (RAILS_ENV == ''production'' ? Logger::INFO : Logger::DEBUG) But I keep getting: /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activesupport-1.3.1/lib/active_support/dependencies.rb:123:in `const_missing'':

AMD Cool'N Quiet = Processor issues
Hello there. I'm new to the forums and pretty new to having linux on my desktop but I've had to use command line unix/linux at school and at work. I'm using Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex 64 bit version. I have a HIS 2600XT video card, an Athlon 64 3500+, and 2 gigs of RAM. I've been having some issues with slow FPS in Guild Wars and Disciples 2 (using the GoG version). I assumed

List quiet for some time now?
Haven't seen messages for about a week now, but archive doesn't show new messages. Wondering what the status is for 3.72. I've downloaded and tested the pre6 on my systems, and it works fine. Getting to release a new version of my g4l project, and wanted to use the latest version, since I know some people have used it on mac machines. Also, is there a way to get and display the

Honor the 'quiet' command line option
Hi, Here is a patch to honor the 'quiet' command line option. This is useful for facilitating quiet/smooth booting from live images. What do you think? Things have gotten pretty quiet
Has the virtualization hooks work moved to another e-mail list? (Or maybe an IRC channel?) I've been meaning to actually help, but I've gotten distracted. Is there some specific area/set-of-files I can try to help with? I don't want to duplicate effort. John Byrne

BUG: scp -q isn't quiet
If I scp from/to a server that has a banner using scp -q, it still shows the banner. If I ssh -q to the same server, the banner is skipped. scp -o "LogLevel quiet" does the trick, but is excessively cumbersome. - Morty

Pseudo-terminal notification and quiet logging
Is there any reason why the notification: "Pseudo-terminal will not be allocated because stdin is not a terminal." should appear in ssh even when quiet mode is enabled? Looking at the ssh.c source the log_init is called just after this notification. Why shouldn't this be the other way around? I tested this with openssh-3.6.1p2 but it seems to be this way still in the latest
